Thats pretty cool. I think the change in how we listen to music is part of the growth of musicians.

Loraine is right, practice and watch the arch of your fingers. Also look at the angle of your wrist. If your wrist is bent too far your palm will drop, and your fingers will sort of straighten out to make the reach, and this can cause issues with muting as well.
Lots of times these issues can come down to posture… back effects shoulder angle, effects elbow angle effects wrist angle effects finger arch and boom string muting.

It is hard to beat the advice @paul0r gave. Try them out and compare. I have 2 primary guitars that I play all the time. One was $1600 and the other $300 I love them both as much as the other and they were both worth the money. This sounds cliche, but the best guitar is the one you can’t put down, even months after you bought it, all brands aside.
