@Daniel_Morin , great job on your guitar playing and also your TAC anniversary. This would be a fun song just to sit on the front porch and play with the neighbors!

The airlines have gotten a little crazy and you don’t want to get there with guitar in hand and they say no. I think Loraine came up with a great suggestion of renting from a guitar store. Start calling now to set something up. I use Guitar-Center a lot and they are all over. Hey, and don’t be afraid of renting a smaller guitar. I use a 1/2 size Classical and I love it. I was using a, 1/4 size for awhile. But, works in a pinch. Good luck and have a fun vacation.

Good for you if you can get strumming down. I have a hard time with it. As for the metronome. I use it here and there. I like to be able to get the chords and finger picking down before I try to keep up with a metronome. Also…. If the metronome is going too fast for you to keep up, make it slower, still too fast, make it slower still. You’ll find certain songs are tougher than others to keep in pace. I use a metronome that I downloaded from the internet. It’s called Soundbrenner, it was free. You can buy the Pro version, but I stuck with free.

I have tried those finger picks for you fingers and i got no where with them. I do see a lot of guitars have fake nails on their picking hand. You could try them out and see what you think?

@Kitsman, I’m with Loraine. Don’t worry about the daily challenges till you are done with the 30 day challenge. But, if you want them, you can down load them to your computer or favorite them. I look at the daily challenges like eating breakfast. If I miss breakfast one day, I don’t eat 2 breakfasts the next day to make up for it. Good luck with your guitar journey.

You mentioned stretching exercises by all means do the 5 finger Stretch Challenge. Davefive put together a cool chart on exercises that makes it a little easier to go through. Hope all the comments are helping you out5.

I took the fretboard wizard when I first signed up. that is almost a year ago. I have NEVER seen any advertising of being able to sign up for it. Maybe write to support and find out when it’s going to be offered. I actually don’t know why it isn’t offered all the time like the other ‘skill courses’.

I was just watching some youtubes. Actually a lot of guys that are finger style guitar players do this. I had just broke a finger nail last month and dang it, it was hard to pick those strings, never thought about putting a fake nail on. Now, my nails are the same length so they are fine for the moment. But, it will happen again. 🙂

you know @Duane58 , I first want to thank for the question I just googled and got a lot of guitar player finger nails. I also found a video by James Taylor on how he puts on his own acrylic nails. You know….. I think I have some glue on fake nails…. I’ll look around for them, glue them on and give you my results.

@Guitargeezer-Jack , I just found the 5 day guitar routine challenge myself. This would be a big help to newbees. Explains the Monday – Technique, Tuesday-Guitar, etc. SHowed where the tab was and favorite button.

@Ping , Listen to @MikeGaurnier , I did just what he is talking about. As soon as I figured that I could do this and do it better if I had a better guitar. BULLCRAP! I fought with that dreadnought for close to a year before I traded it in for something smaller. Make a pest out of your self at the guitar stores and try them all to get a good fit. You might be lucky enough to get a salesperson that will help you out a little.

I watched a finger picking video on the song Mad World. The guitarist showed you a portion of the tablature, but not all of it. It was really nice to be able to jot down the sequence of notes and figure out the remaining few. Win, Win
