    @david_k

    How does it work? Do you physically annotate in the PDF or does a mic pickup what you are playing and convert it to Tab?

    @Mrfredsporty I use the weekend to get away from practicing new techniques and focus on some songs and have some fun.

    @Moose408

    What browser are you using. It won’t even let me log in under Firefox like I normally do. I got in using Chrome, but it is slower than Molasses.-

    @Sandie – If I didn’t know better, I would swear that picture is a photo of my hand😁. I have the same problem. Ironically, I am 6’2″ but my hand and fingers never got that message apparently and so here I am with the medium hands and very short fingers more like those of a 5’2″ person. My pinky is also very very short, just like you show. (I quite watching those you tube videos of guys with pinkys longer than my index finger)

    Anyhow, You can still make it work. I do the finger stretching exercises that Tony has in there everyday before I start playing or practicing. They do help and over time things get a bit better.

    At the end of the day though, if you are 5’2″ tall and stand under the hoop, you still won’t be able to dunk the basketball no matter how much stretching you do. If you think about it though, the name of the game is to put the ball in the hoop and there are many ways to do that without dunking – dunking is just a crowd pleaser thing. Take that analogy and what I am saying is sometimes to play the song or TAC exercise, you just have to adapt and play it a different way or use the pinky to catch that faraway note, vice the ring finger or play the note in a different place or play the chord differently so if fits what you can do. The end result will be the same.

    Do you need a different guitar? Maybe. Neck width and neck design make a huge difference. Acoustic
    Guitar necks come in all kinds of widths, typical widths are 1 11/16″, 1
    23/32″, 1 3/4″. More importantly, Neck designs also run the full variety of
    shapes (e.g. Oval, Modified Oval, C, V, Modified V, Low Profile, etc.). All of
    these variable affect fingering depending on your hand and finger size. Scale length can also make a difference, but I have found going to a shorter scale didn’t help me much, so I stuck with the more or less 25.4″ standard.

    You play fiddle? Cool – that will give you a bump up in guitar land progressing.

    Hope this helps,

    Chuck

    @sycolyst Go Slow, relax your grip on the pick and just keep at it. Set a timer and try it 10 minutes a day and you will begin to see progress. BTW, that setting a timer thing really makes a difference – you find out that 10 minutes can be a long time

    @zman – Acoustic Guitar necks come in all kinds of widths, typical widths are 1 11/16″, 1 23/32″, 1 3/4″. More importantly, Neck designs also run the full variety of shapes (e.g. Oval, Modified Oval, C, V, Modified V, Low Profile, etc.). All of these variable affect fingering depending on your hand and finger size. In my own case, I have a medium size hand, but short fingers (an especially short pinky), so I gravitate to the 1 11/16″ modified low oval necks.

    Suggest you stop in at a local guitar store and try a few different styles out to see what works best for you.

    Not sure I follow your G chord problem. Would think your ring finger is either on the 1st string, 3rd fret or 2nd string 3rd fret with pinky on the 1st string 3rd fret. Don’t see how your ring finger is muting the 5th string unless you are not using the index and fingering with your middle, ring and pinky (which is legit if you want to use the index in other ways.

    Hope this helps

    one more suggestion @Debv22 – can you post a short video of you trying to do the C chord and then we can all see what might be going on with your technique.

    Hey @Debv22 – Try making the C with only 2 fingers to start. Forget putting your index on the first fret of the B string and just play it with your index and middle on the A and D strings. Practice that until it all sounds clean. Do some finger stretching exercises over the next few days and gradually try sneaking that old index back onto the B string until you get it clean. Take time and go slow.

    Wow! That is really nice there @charlie_d

    I am a big Neil fan (take some abuse for that from some of my more mainstream friends😁). Great job improvising and playing.

    Enjoy

    Those live 90 Zoom get togethers were fantastic, especially when you went into the breakout sessions and got to chat with other TAC members.

    As I recall Tony kind of left the window open to resume depending on his personal schedule challenges. I for one would sure like to see them come back.

    Once you zero in on your State, you can also sort by newest members or recently active. I find the “Recently Active” to be very telling – you can see more or less who shows up regularly and who joined, got excited for a few weeks and then faded. No sense reaching out to someone who is not serious. But like @kurt99 said, you have to click on the person’s profile to get a better idea of what part of the state they are from. Would be nice if you could sort within a range of miles or something similar.
