Great improv @Jonathandavid ! Your improv showcased your mastery of the pentatonic scales up, done and across the neck. Great melodic selections on notes, phrases and motifs! Smooth and great tone as usual. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks also for the heads up about taking a break from TAC. It has been a real pleasure to meet you here, share our playing and love of guitar. Stay well and safe and keep on strumming and picking! Hope to run into you again soon somehow, somewhere!

This would be the guitar that feels and plays like it was built to belong in my hands. I go into the shop with and idea of the general category of the guitar I would like to buy. Then I plan to spend a few hours in the shop picking up and playing the different guitars that seem to fit that category. I don’t think I have ever left the shop with the guitar I had in the back of my mind going in. I’ve also left empty handed because I couldn’t make a connection with any of the guitars I played.
So… it seems you are already doing all of the above! My advice is to continue and buy the guitar that speaks to you. Good luck and let us know how it turns out! 😎🎶🎸

Hi @jaweaver14 , sorry to hear about your broken fretting hand. I am only just beginning to learn finger style guitar myself – started in October at the beginning of the current 90 day TAC cycle.
I love @Carol-3M-Stillhand ’s advice and plan to get the book she mentioned (thanks Carol!).
For me the process of teaching my right hand and brain to find the right strings, hold down the backbeat and get a consistent tone has been where I am spending the majority of my time – building this muscle memory in my picking hand. IMO Carol’s advice for open tuning and picking hand focused practice and learning is spot on. Finally I want to say I really am inspired by your determination to find a path forward while your fretting hand heals. I wish you a solid and speedy recovery. 🙂
