Hi @DM1982 and welcome to TAC! Thank you for sharing your song. I really enjoyed listening and watching you play – learned a few things from you! Looking forward to seeing more from you.
A VOM is a Virtual Open Mic. If you navigate over to justmusicgeeks.com you will find you have an opportunity to join a group of very welcoming and supportive folks that form a community that uses Zoom to hold VOMs on a pretty regular basis each week. You can come just to listen and hopefully to play for the group. All levels of players are welcome. Come on over and join in the fun! 😎🎶🎸

Great win @stevieblues . I have to agree with @Bill_Brown , you are under celebrating! Your progress is awesome! I will leave you with one piece of coaching I received some time ago: meet yourself where you are vs where you think you ought to be. Then take small steps from there and celebrate each one. The progress comes more quickly than you think and it is more fun. Anyway – congrats and yahoo! 🎉🎸🎶😎

Great improv @Jonathandavid . You gave us a great melody with smooth fretboard work up, down and across the fretboard. Loved the final triad! Thanks for sharing with us!

Hi @Carnelia , here is what I did to practice flat picking and cross picking:
1. Put the cross picking challenges on a check list and repeated them throughout the 90 days as warm up. Some of them were very challenging to me so I slowed them way down and using a metronome inched the BPMs up little by little. Always dropped back to slower BOMs of my note quality and accuracy suffered
2. Completed and referenced frequently the “Flatpicking Jumpstart” and “Cross Picking 5 Day Challenge” skills courses
3. Used the treasure trove of Flatpicking instructional videos in the TAC song Vault and selected some targeted songs to learn. Here is the link for the vault: https://app.searchie.io/hub/254V7grV3m/
4. Utilized a YouTube site to proactive the songs. This site has tons of bluegrass songs at different speeds that may be used for practice – all for free! For example they have “Billy In The Low Ground” at 80, 90, 100, 110 and ,120 BPMs. I found most all of the TAC song vault Flatpicking songs there. Here is the link: https://youtube.com/channel/UCB9CEXR7cXSDV3wP8gDQ2lw
Hope you find this is helpful!

Hi @SciencePete . I was focusing on flat picking over the last 90 days. In the TAC song vault (link: https://app.searchie.io/hub/254V7grV3m/) there are a number of flat picking songs to learn and practice. I also found this YouTube channel which provides bluegrass backing tracks at several different speeds for practicing
