Thanks @Cadgirl ! I actually did a bench mark recording last week after I had around 120 days at TAC. I compared it to a recording from when I just joined TAC. There was a noticeable difference in the tone, quality and confidence of my playing. I really like the idea of the “100 day video check in” and will definitely keep it going. Great idea and thanks for sharing! 😎🎸🎶

Hi @GerryB56 , very convenient Il approach to see if you want to commit to buying a Dobro! If you look in the skills courses there is a course focused on the slide guitar. Beyond that I don’t have much advice – I haven’t seriously gone down that rabbit hole yet! 😃

Hi @1967kerbygmail-com and welcome to TAC! 😃 If I remember correctly the use of the 5, 3 and 1 count down is used to help build muscle memory on getting your hand and finger position ready to play. I think I am also remembering to do the 3 and 1 count you just don’t start moving your hand from the starting position until Tony hits that number. For example if you are practicing the 3 count: Tony will start at 5 however you let your hand rest until he gets to 3 and then start to position it. Hope makes some kind of sense and helps. 😎🎸🎶

It’s all about learning @Mrfredsporty ! Don’t be too hard on yourself. 😎. I do a slightly different version of what @Cadgirl does. I bring up the tab and mentally and visually follow along with Tony or whoever is the instructor for the lesson. Then I take a crack at it without a metronome to get the fingering and transitions down. Then I start playing those with a metronome. Finally I go back and work along with the video to get all to sync up. I know – weird but it works for me! 🎶😎🎸🎶

Great reminder @the-old-coach ! The first thing I do for each lesson is “favoritize” it. Learned that one early in my when I started with TAC. Second and based on @Cadgirl s advice I started saving the lessons to files. Even started saving the backing tracks. I like your random selection of a lesson and “play”. Will have to try that one. 😎🎶🎸

Great improv @Jonathandavid ! 👏 You had a little bit of everything in that one. I really like how you used the upper strings to fill out the chord of the “droning” backing track as well as your triads and single note lines. Your rhythm and timing are spot on! Nice! 🎶🎸😎

Great performance @KevinZ ! Loved your version of this ES tune . As @Bill_Brown points you – you had it all! I really admire your approach to fully committing to learning a song (chords, melody, lyrics, etc) that you had previously shared in the forum. It really results in a great performance. 👏👏👏👏😎🎸🎶

This is a great question @Cadgirl – one with which I have zero experience. Looking forward to what everyone has to offer by way of experience and advice.

Hey @GerryB56 I have read about some folks here on TAC logging in when they are away to review the daily lessons and or reviewing things like music theory to keep their minds engaged. However, like you said a break may no be a bad thing either! 😃
