Looking at the phot my comment would be that your bar finger should be straighter parallel with the fret. Rotate it towards the neck so you are on the side of the finger.and just keep practicing.
If you have access to an electric guitar it is much, much easier to barre on an electric than an acoustic. Helps to get the technique ingrained

Basically the idea is you go through the 30 day challenge and then jump into the daily challenges. The daily challenges are week long stand alone exercises. Each day of the week you spend at least 10 mins on each challenge and then wait for the next day. Some daily challenges will be easy, some you will only get through one measure. That’s ok. The challenges come around again in several months and the next time you will get further.
The motto is progress over perfection. You don’t need to perfect any challenge, instead spend at least 10 mins on it and then move on.

Different thicknesses do sound different and many select their pick based upon the sound they want to achieve.
I tend to use a thinner pick for strumming and a thicker pick when picking individual strings.
Some are also more comfortable to hold, don’t spun as much, or don’t slip out if your fingers. Get an assortment pack and try lots of different sizes and styles to see what works best for you.

The mantra is progress over perfection.
You are expected to be proficient in any daily lesson the first time through. Some will be easy, some I’ve struggled getting through a single measure. Just spend the 10 mins and move on. The lesson will come back around in 9-12 months and the next time you will do better, over time you will be able to do the whole lesson without a struggle. Have patience and don’t strive for perfection.

Ultimate Guitar is where I learn the majority of songs.

I would say move on. There are going to be A LOT of things you aren’t going to be able to do at this point. Instead of getting frustrated trying to do something you are not ready for, move on. Progress over perfection is the mantra. It took me 5 months to comfortably have the stretch for power chords.

I have struggled with the mini-F for easily 10 months. I’m getting better but I’m still not there. I often cheat like @petelanger and don’t barre the high E string. That technically is an Fmaj7 chord, and it works for a lot of songs.
Stick with it, like most things guitar it just takes a LOT of time and practice.

Try to pick up the guitar everyday even if only for 10 mins.

I have a Bluetooth foot pedal like the one listed below. It simulates a keyboard and works with some apps that allow key strokes to scroll. It is not autoscroll but allows you to manually control the scrolling.

The philosophy of TAC is progress over perfection. You are not expected to perfect or master any lesson the first time through. Just do the best you can, spend at least 10 mins on it, and then move on.
The idea is that the skills being taught will come around again and the next time you will get a little further. Then the next time a little further and better and eventually you will master it. I might happen the 2nd time through or the 30th. It doesn’t matter, what matters is that you are consistently practicing everyday and getting a little better each time a skill comes around.

Building community is hard. My other online guitar course has a much more vibrant community. I’ve been involved in community building for many years and it is very hard to make it happen, it seems like it just has to grow organically. Posting here early and often will help. Keep at it and don’t get discouraged.

There are a full 12 months of challenges before it repeats. However there are less then 52 weeks of challenges because each of the benchmark weeks repeats every 4 weeks. (Did that make sense?). I think that works out to a total of 40 weeks of challenges.
