Both have been around for years. “G” chord is made up of 3 notes – g, b & d. When you play the 4 finger G chord you have an extra d note in the chord. Both sounds great and it is normally personally preference.

Here are last week’s daily challenges. It was the Wizard of Oz week. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Wow… Way to go! Now that is dedication!

If you don’t want to take your own guitars (like when I go for an extended period of time), I rent one instead. I normally rent a Journey Collapsible Guitar (neck detaches and whole guitar fits into its own small sized backpack. The one I get is carbon fibre so I do not have to worry about it getting wet or damaged.
The place I rent it from costs me about $10 a weekend or $25/week. Not too bad I think and makes life easier.

Edith… I would recommend the Taylor GS Mini. It is about 3/4 size but it sounds fantastic! Granted I won it here on TAC a few months ago so I am biased! HAHAHAHA…
But I am teaching my son guitar now and he uses it and it is much easier than a full size guitar for him. You will probably have the same experience.
Good luck!

I use a battery operated Korg Metronome (model MA-30). I have been using this one for about 15 years or so now. I don’t even think I have replaced the battery yet… must to a combination of not “using” it enough or it is very efficient!

Wow!! I cannot believe I won the Taylor GS Mini Mahogany guitar! Loved how Tony tried to say my user name: crarod! So to everyone out there: CRAig RODrigues (first 3 letters of first/last name)
Thanks again! I think I will go out and buy a lottery ticket now! Just in case!

I really liked your F Barre video! And what a great studio you have! It took me quite a while to get the F Barre chord (all 6 strings) as well. Things that a friend told me that really helped.
If you can do this yourself, then perfect! If not, take it to someone who is a guitar tech.
1. Lower the action of your strings. Meaning get the strings as low to the frets without buzzing. That way it takes less pressure to press the strings down.
2. Change the strings to smallest gauge. I have D’Addario 10’s. Thinner strings means less tension to get the string in tune so easier to push down on.
3. Slightly roll your index finger to create more pressure on the strings and you will use more of the bone of your finger.
4. Finally, practice.
Good Luck!
