Nice job and nice clean recording.

You must have had a rush to post several songs so quickly! I have a Men’s Bible Study that has several 80-90 year old widowers. This song reminded me of them. Good job fiddling with this one.

Also Janis Joplin’s cover of “Summertime” from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess.

I use the quarterly goals to add new songs. On a new song I will first get the rhythm down and then add the chord progression and then add lyrics and then add special techniques such as word, transitions or bases fills or runs. I try to add different styles of songs so that I would have a flat picking fiddle tune, and a folk song, and perhaps a love song going at the same time so that it does not become monotonous. I also each quarter throw in a song that is very difficult for me so that I will be uncomfortable. I do not expect to master that song over any short time period. I find the songs on guitar Tabs & Chords or Laura Bateman or the stellar guitarist. I do not believe they compete with TAC because they are generally simple versions of songs I want to cover. I hope that helps.

And she is back! Happy your recovery is far enough along to play again. Thanks you.

A great big congratulations to you. A second Taciversary is a wonderful thing to celebrate and also congratulations on a successful rotator cuff outcome.

For years Tony did Acoustic Tuesdays. After the birth of his last son, he stopped doing them for a period of time. Then he added a new season and has again stopped. It was a definite part of his routine and interesting. It is especially fun to see some of the early versions which included Levi and other guest.

When my grandson started working with me at Christmas to record a few postings, he kept laughing at me because I would get off beat which makes lining up tracks difficto impossible. So I added rhythm to my TAC quarterly goals to overcome my cavalier attitude about timing. (And get rid of the disgrace of having my grandson laugh at his Poppy).

The things we nerd out on just makes me smile. I would laugh out loud but then I read the whole thread with intrigue so I too think the production of sound by vibrating strings is a marvelous thing.

Tuesday used to be my hardest, but now I enjoy it. But Friday is my favorite.

Congratulations. The mental and emotional aspects of playing help us focus outside of ourselves. So kudos to you on your Taciversary. Celebration is part of the guitar journey.

The usual rule is down on the “beat” and up on the “and”. That works here for me even on the 3/4 and 2/4 measures.
-
I think you have a good plan to deal with this “overhead of life” situation. Lord grant you quick healing.

Yes. And with a metronome. Last year I started working with my grandson to record some tracts and found that over time I had become very cavalier about timing since I usually play and practice alone. If you play with others it is better for all if you play in time. So I resolved to pay more attention to rhythm. And I found that with a new song, it was a good place to start and then layer the others on top.
