We all thought they were so with it for Clovis, NM. You took me back there.

@petelanger , @Philb , @Braden Thanks for listening and for your feedback. I am chasing down several rabbit holes and finding lots of new things to learn and try to tie together. I appreciate your encouragement.

Great encouragement. I affirm your use of the profile. I update mine as part of the quarterly goal review process. The practice has kept me directed. I use the profile like an aviation flight plan. Although I am off the flight plan 98% of the time, blown by the winds and life interruptions, but with awareness of a need for correction. I adjust and eventually get somewhere. And I feel no sense of failure if I change my destination. The plan is my tool not my master. So this week I’ll be updating it again. It’s the end of another quarter.

This one slipped by me but I saw it today. All that energy has tired me out even this early in the morning. Nice job.

It has been great to do this guitar journey with you. You are an example of how we can all improve by showing up and having fun and trying new things. best to you on your continuing journey and Happy Taciversary.

Which Hopefest is this? There are several but I assume it isn’t the one in Austin TX? Nice song and tribute to your parents.

What a lot of fun to be playing with people and making use of open G just to have a bunch of fun. I didn’t see the bass player but I could hear it. Nice to see your smile.

Double post?

I hope this song helped you get over it! Thanks for sharing.

Been there, done that. Will likely have to do it again. Thanks for the smile.

Steve, best of success on your continuing guitar journey. If the mentor approach doesn’t work out for you or if your habits erode, you can come back. I too am nostalgic occasionally for the early informality that lead us up to and through COVID with Acoustic, Tuesday, Noah, Levi and other off camera, podcast type support. I am growing into recording as new path for improvement in my journey. Having to watch myself and to play in time has added my TAC experience and made me better when I occasionally get to jam with others. Happy trails.

Great accomplishment. I took my Martin Backpacker to Europe to keep practice up. But I also would amend the rule to include Music Theory. A good theory book like one from James Shipway’s collection is a great travel companion. Congratulations. And your practice does show in your postings from a few years ago until now. Have fun.

What a wonderful experience! I am happy for you. I just came back from my annual trip to the Kerrville Folk Festival. The fun of such an event is more in the camp grounds playing with others than the music presented on stage. I lived in the Bay Meadows area of Jacksonville for three years and my son graduated from Wolfson High School. I got to play around the campfire with some dads from Troop 333. One is brought back to a true joy of music when you can play and share it with others. Not only does playing with others shines a light on those uncomfortable areas where we most desire improvement, it also affirms our progress. I’ve never felt shamed in a song circle. Everyone in the circle is just appreciating the opportunity to have others with which to share.

I am not familiar with Kenny Wayne Shepherd. Your chord changing has certainly speed up over time.

I had an opportunity to play a bluegrass jam session last Monday with some folks in South Austin. It was great but since I am new to the jam, I wasn’t familiar with all the songs to play a lead. I did one lead (poorly if I must say so). But rhythm wise I could follow the chord progressions. I will do the jam again but am accumulating the song list that the group plays from. If I were to engage in comparative thinking, I would say I was the weakest link. But since I don’t, I would say I had the most fun and probably learned and benefited the most from the session. And they had cookies!
