Great idea to lead up to Christmas. I’m putting my Christmas playlist in my back pocket for a little family sing a long I hope to have with the grandkids. You are encouraging me to try and post one. Thanks for sharing.

Getting back on that horse is a great plan. I have a guitar out at all times. Even on vacation I leave the Martin Backpacker in the room out.

I am right there with you in appreciation not only to TAC but to those who have been encouragement along the way. I still see the faces of those early zoomers and virtual mics through COVID and thereafter. You too @jumpinjeff are a thread in the TAC fabric. Gratitude is a great attitude.

As @petelanger said TAC is more about learning processes than specific songs although specific songs are used in teaching. It also has a quarterly audit feature (next one is 12/29) that helps focus progress. I set myself quarterly goals that include specific songs. I update my profile each quarter to remind myself of those goals. Right now I’m working on a Christmas playlist. Silent Night comes from the old TAC song vault as does Auld Lang Syne. Others are from YouTube or Sheet Tab. But the combination of TAC Daily Challenges, Quarterly Goals, and 3rd Party Sourced songs has been sustainable and brought great joy to my guitar journey and peace of mind.

And that not a problem in Central Texas. Fun song. Thanks for sharing.

The problem is that most of the time I end up just sitting in front of my iPad and playing. No accounting for sloth.

Nice job. The YouTube upload says you did this in 2015 but I assume it is a typo and is really 2025. This song speaks to all us Dads.

Wow. You guys are hung ho regarding chord transitions. These are some serious ideas. I had not heard of the folded corners idea. I’ll have to fiddle around with it.
-
Definitely move on. The challenges will come around again and you will be pleasantly surprised with how much easier it will be for you when they do and realize your progress.

I would try pickup with the Daily Challenge. But if that overwhelms you, go back to the skills courses that you feel are hindering you. The key is to get back on a horse that challenges you but that you still enjoy because fun is the key. The journey is the enjoyment. The destination is a momentary reward before the next leg of the journey. Kudos to you for overcoming life getting in the way and your overcoming the obstacles to get back to your guitar routine.

Might be “Freight Train” or “Margaritaville” or “Will the Circle Be Unbroken”.. I like the question. Hope the thread continues.

Enjoyed that. Actually picked up my guitar and played along with you.

Ha! “Out of kindness”… I love it. And I like the song.

You will be surprised how your brain tucks your 10 minutes away and comes back to it next time around. Research shows retention works better with short (say five 10 minute sessions with five 2 minute breaks) than one long (say 60 minute) session. I think that is why it works and it nice to take off the pressure of comparing yourself to where you are than where you think you SHOULD be. Enjoy.
