I saw John Denver once in concert on Ft. Worth. Great show. He was born in New Mexico as was I and went to Texas Tech until he dropped out to pursue his music. Also great tribute to his first wife. Thanks for sharing your rendition.

    Have a terrific 2026.

Good testimony. Good rendition. Keep that thought past Ephiphone. May you continue to have an enriching guitar journey in 2026.

Nice rendition. I have a question. What were your considerations in deciding to use a Capo on Second Fret in an instrumental? I don’t usually use one unless I’m playing with others or needing to get vocals in range. Not critiquing but might learn something better.

What a great thread! I ebb and flow. With the flow, it is important to MY FUN that I have a few back pocket songs to play. But it doesn’t have to be many. I have experienced few people really want to hear a full set of songs, just one or two they can relate to and connect with you. (Tony’s Benchmark songs can do that.) And so, then I am a guitar player. If then there is genuine interest you can do a few more songs that you like and feel good about. With the ebb, it is important to MY PSYCHE to just pick up my six-string friend and play some notes or phrases or chords or comfort and express my mood. And so, then I realize I am a guitar player with no comparison thinking or audience other than myself and that is enough.

Thank you. My voice cracking also cracked me up. If I weren’t so lazy, I would go back and re-record, but my point is enjoyment and not perfection. There are way better people than me that do these songs, but not many have more fun.

I am not sure but it was the best investment (next to actually owning a guitar and a guitar stand to keep the guitar handy) that I have made on my guitar journey. I’m sure someone will tell you.

You guys are always coming up with a creative take. Thanks… and yes, an English Literature minor knows Dylan Thomas.

Ok. I bit. Book is on order. I also like James Shipway’s “No Bull” books as a supplement to my FBW.

She has always been “Jane” (from Endor) when you need her. She has helped me several times.
