Without aid, you need to have marked them as a favorite. If you did not, there is a work around to find someone who did and see their favorites and mark them. There is also a work around that some have figured out about the file names. There are better explanations buried in past threads about this. You might also just ask support. It is doable.

Yes. I’m guessing but seems like about quarterly. This just started last year. I like it as some of the songs are in genres with which I am unfamiliar but I have found them fun to learn.

Usually Tony has one 1) play the scale 2) play the scale over the backing track without regard to improv 3) play the scale improvising so that it sounds good to you. The second has to do with rhythm and valuable lessons he learned playing with his Dad and Uncle as a teen. The third is on the theory that if it sounds good to you it is good. Some Wednesdays mine sounds better than others.

  • You’re in luck @Kayakgirl . This week’s Daily Challenge is a benchmark week that encompasses (all that copyright laws will allow) in learning a song.

You might also keep the guitar and leave it in an alternate tuning so when lessons or songs come up you are ready to play. I keep one on a wall hangar for just such times and so it saves space and is convenient and a decent decoration.

Almost a whole song but not exactly. I believe that relates to copyright laws. But the benchmark songs let you do a song and then add to it each time it comes around again. I believe we will do Hotel California-ish this month. You will like TAC. It is a great process. If you can afford it, the lifetime membership is well worth it. It has yielded great dividends for those of us who jumped on it.

It is interesting how Intangible Property rights have become so ingrained in the music business. The original intent to protect intangible property is noble. It was to allow an artist to enjoy the work of their hands with the intent to become public domain and enrich culture and society as a whole after an elapsed period. But then the work around of remix and renewing protection just made for trust babies, not society enrichment. End of sermon… thanks for sharing.

Hey. I hadn’t thought of that bender explanation. Perhaps Tony fell asleep after taking care of the two little ones and forgot to push go? Perhaps Levi was celebrating National Women’s History Month and didn’t login. Now we know how many holes it takes to fill the “Albert” hall?

Don’t worry about being “behind”. It is a journey not a destination so you’ll never be behind. Just pick up and walk on. Now as for the emails? That I don’t know. There was a major update last Tuesday and today the site is stuck on last Friday so I doubt anyone can get to it soon. But be assured that they care and will eventually work it out and respond to your support concern in the meantime just work on your health concerns, your emotional health, and play what you can when you can. Thanks for trusting your concerns with those of us who walk the grounds of the forum.

It’s fun when the music takes over from the written notes and transitions become more evident and dynamics set in along with runs and implied chords. Enjoy the deeper appreciation.

It is nice to see younger generations appreciating quality hits from before. Nice cover. Thanks.

Our brains are amazing (when they are working). They will hear and fill in the [implied] notes that please them. So you don’t have to strum all the strings for a listener to enjoy the sound. Whatever strings you hit will be sufficient. The ear will fill in the rest. That’s some of the joy of it and the rhythm that the upstroke brings.
