Howdy Ben. I’m going the other way. I’ve been strictly acoustic and just bought my first electric setup. (A PRS SE and a Positive Grid Spark amp).

I think you will find everything here translates well between acoustic and electric. Different tones, but complementary skill sets. Enjoy the journey.

Nice job. I’m with David. I want to fill in the harmonies on the holds.

Nice. Wasn’t expecting the 12 string when I clicked over to this.

Also, are you using a really thin pick? They tend to be more clicky as they bend and snap back straight.

Tune to an open key and get a slide. You can still work on your picking hand..

Hmmm. It is working for me. There are several browser related items it could be. I don’t know if you’ve done any of these recently:

    Browser Updates

    Added a pop-up blocker

    Performed OS updates.

What I would suggest is log out of TAC and go to your browser settings and clear the cache. I don’t know what browser you are using, but it is easy enough to find the specifics for your browser via Google.

After clearing the cache, completely close all browser windows.

Give it about 30 seconds to clean up everything, then try launching it again.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the great follow-up. You’ve succeeded with an ambitious project and allowed all us to share in it with you.

These days, personal growth seems hard to come by. Congratulations on finding yours.

One nice thing about Fret Board Wizard, is you always have it. You can go through it multiple times. I’ve been through four complete times and a couple of partial times. I pick up a little something new each time. Even if you only really grok the Foundational Five, that is an important building block for everything else.

And ask questions! There is a great community of knowledgeable people here that is more that happy to help.

I really would not watch much TV, except for it being family time. I’m moderately ADD, so I tend to immerse myself in something in which I am interested (in this case, guitar) and only half pay attention to everything else.

👏 Good job. People under-estimate the difficulty of singing while playing a different rhythm.

Addendum: Some thoughts about how I TAC that were not included in the challenge.

Every session I do some warm-ups.

Every week, I build on the days before. For Example, I will uses Monday’s warm-up as part of every session that week. Same for each day, so by the time I get to day five, I’m running through the material from days 1-4, as well as the key-chords for day five.

As I did mention above, I try to incorporate different styles in each lesson. Flat-picking week, I may also try the exercises fingerstyle. Fingerstyle week: I’ll do them both fingerstyle and hybrid picking.

One other thing is I’ve started trying out different chord voicings, to see how they fit with the exercises.

    Keep pickin’ y’all.

Alfred – I’d be interested in knowing too. I just picked up my very first electric guitar. I expect to be working on entirely different things than the TAC challenges. Have a Spark amp on the way too.
