@SusanC I learned that Barre chords are a matter of feel and placement. I still have trouble with Barre chords. I try to roll my index finger until I get a good sound on the frets. It is definitely a tricky thing.

@Marty69 Love the hat! Great work on the Dylan tune “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”. I looked up the song and Bob Dylan recorded it in 1973. It ended up on the “Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid” soundtrack. I saw that some famous players helped Bob out when recording the song: Roger McGuinn (guitar), Booker T. Jones (bass), Jim Keltner on drums, and Russ Kunkel (tambourine, bongos) to name a few.

@andy_e That is way cool. I had to Google the 1958 Gibson mandolin, and on one website there was one for sale. The price tag? $3.450. That was just one website I found. Wow.

I know I have forgotten to logout and have stayed logged in for quite some time, so I don’t know if the session counter counts that session or not. I try to make a point of logging out after every session, but I wonder how accurate the counter is?

@Brian_P I didn’t realize Nancy Griffith has passed away! She was only 68 years old. I remember hearing her music on a local radio station here in Chicago in the mid-1990s. Thanks for sharing!

I think that is great advice! I take one day at time. @Loraine remember to take care of yourself too. I recently went through 5 weeks of group therapy (social distancing and wearing facemasks) through a program called Pathways (through my hospital here). They gave me some good tips, hints, and suggestions on how to deal with my grief. I really liked the group therapy setting. I learned a lot about myself, and other members.

I was born in December 1962. Johnny Rivers (born John Henry Ramistella) is now 78 years old. I always loved his style of music.

@Loraine I believe WLS 890 (I put in 780 which is incorrect. I believe 780 AM belongs to WGN radio, my apologies there). WLS 890 is still on air, and I believe it is AM and FM now. Of course, I had to look up WLS and I found out they starting broadcasting back on 4/12/1924….97 years ago! I am also a fan of WXRT 93.1 FM in Chicago. I listened to 93- XRT back in the days when it wasn’t a 24-hour radio station. It went 24 hours starting 4/26/1976. What is interesting is that I had a teacher at my small high school who was an early DJ on WXRT when it wasn’t 24 hours. What I also like is that technology allows us to listen online anytime, anywhere to our favorite stations.

Barre chords are enough to hurt any guitar player. I still have difficulty barring chords. It is really an artform.
