Your account is far too common. As a RN who worked with patients and their families dealing with dementia, as well as seeing my own father’s memory impairment due to brain cancer, the cruelty of evil actors is more prevalent than most people realize. I not only witnessed “friends” deceive seniors but telemarketers and unethical trades people taking advantage of these vulnerable souls.

Alzheimer’s Disease is a double loss for love ones as it takes an individual’s memory first before the body physically surrenders.

As others have said, that twelve string appears to be providing you comfort. It’s common for individuals with dementia to retain musical recognition. Janet, if you have the opportunity, you might want to play for him.

Nice rendition of this John Prine tune.

Very well done! Keep it up young lady. Always great to see those who start guitar at an early age. Check out this guitarist: https://www.youtube.com/user/Gabriella9797

    One of my personal favorites.

A very good “therapy” session. Beautifully done finger picking and vocals. From you Marisa, I expect nothing less.

@Marty72 – that 12 really rings out! This Clapton tune suits your vocals very well. I feel blessed I attended one of his concerts in 2001. Have that concert poster still on a wall. He had some Blues greats perform with him. Keep cranking them out my TAC friend!☮

Enjoyed your well-done rendition, Marisa. You appear much more comfortable and relaxed. Portable sound systems are excellent these days. Will add audio techniques for you to enhance your repertoire toolbox.

Noticed you just joined us guitar geeks, welcome Patty! I hope you will find as much joy and satisfaction as I have following TAC over time. PS – the 10 minutes each day works (it ends up much longer once one picks up the guitar!) Keep playing.

It is said volunteerism is good for ones health. Shouldn’t squander any gifts we have.

I agree @albert_d John Prine tunes are also well received as they provide insight into life. Thanks for being out there.

What a lovely reply @Loraine. Strange that I am still shy about playing in front of various family members including my wife!

Dennis, welcome to TAC. Hope it will achieve your wildest guitar dreams. Consistency is the key to success. Just pick up your guitar each day. Ten minutes rapidly being 30 and more.

Always great to discover another North Carolinian on board.

Think I might make it as far as Asheville. Appreciate your comment.

Appreciate your comments @Moonhare – Justin Hayward does come across as a very nice person. Here’s a recent FB video of him with his current tour band mates: (20+) Watch | Facebook

Darren, if you haven’t seen Mike Dawes perform on his own, I highly recommend seeing him. An awesome percussionist guitarist with boundless talent and energy.

Thanks @Philb – I do like my comfy “Every Good Boy Deserves Favour” MB LP cover art shirt as much as the album itself.
