Way to go @Loraine look at you picking and keeping the rhythm. Singing and playing at the same time it is not easy believe me I know but once it starts to work it is great joy. And great for the mind to make it work and have to think. So you keep on going and I don’t have to tell you to have fun along the way. Because I can tell you already are.

Hey thanks @the-old-coach I wrote a song to a blues shuffle patterns. It is called Music Is A Friend Of Mine will be tweaking it again with my new blues skills it is my song so I can tweak away without being chastised. Music lets me vent yes its a blast I am very glad I stuck with it. Now it even sounds good is a plus but the best is it works my mind lately even more because I am starting to improv more into the playing. When I improv something always suffers forget words or do the wrong ones or wrong chords . So more takes until I get one postworthy. But I memorize everything goes good during practice start recording things can go sideways so delete and do it again. Yesterday I tackled Jim Reeves Am I Losing You got the improv solo note runs figured out but when recording and playing it back need more smoothly flowing feel to it. So today will be taking another crack at that if all goes well only time will tell. I think once I get things more memorized it should clean up.

Thanks so very much for listening in and commenting. Very much appreciated so grateful you took the time to enjoy the unplugged rendition. Hope you got some blues on truth is about 85 to 90 % accuracy after 3 months not playing various songs chords come back better than lyrics . Lyrics I get 2 out 3 verses correct. Test myself from time to time as a type of feedback. In emissions control of a power plant feedback is critical to adjust combustion to stay in compliance. I use feedback all the time when troubleshooting I applied that to my guitar piano playing. With the thought of adjusting or working on my trouble spots while playing an instrument. I could always sing Karaoke but had a hankering to play and sing now I can jump in as a guest with a band and others can play with me at a jam. Its been a long hard road with music but finally its paying off. Chordify app has really helped my timing lets you play with the band without actually having to be there also shows the chords . Strumming patterns has helped finger picking patterns and improvised notes and runs is getting easier to add and stay in time. Work flat pick and finger pick on the same song fast songs flat pick wins soft mellow songs finger pick I listen whichever one sounds the best I record and post. Sometimes I get it right. When a person comments it refreshes the que and gives my post a chance for others to know about. I really appreciate that. Some ques are so fast on sites if you’re post gets pushed down to the 5th spot very few listen. Being in the top 3 is the best and I get to meet new people such as yourself always a plus in my book . So thanks again

Don’t feel bad @albert_d I do Electrical and Instrumentation consulting now in the power utilities industry. Every once in awhile someone will ask a tech question off the job. I always tell them don’t ask if you don’t want to know because after training many people over the years I turn into the consultant. My goal making sure they know how to do it correctly safely and efficiently. As you say I am what I am spent 36 years being the head E&I guy another 9 years as a consultant with my own LLC . They didn’t want me to go so I formed an LLC. Music has been a huge venting release for me I am so glad I stuck with it. Keeps my brain challenged now that I am semi retired. Keeps that Alzheimer’s that runs in our family bigtime off my doorstep. I intend to fight it tooth and nail I have seen what happens if you don’t memorizing songs and exact job descriptions then relaying it puts a dent in that ole Alzheimer’s. Sharing the music with people like you is just a huge plus.

Thanks all I always thought it was a situation that when young and single who hasn’t been a little less than honest at 1st . In this case he got the girl and was honest in the end. Kind of went the extra effort to meet her. I was on a camping fishing trip with family some no longer here. I knew it was a pickup song but it is done in a nice way. After all thats the cycle of life. Just want to say you listening in and commenting is very much appreciated and glad you enjoyed the unplugged campfire rendition.

Thanks dont play live at jams so much anymore but still jump in with the band as a guest singer. Mostly do online music sites and post unplugged but now do piano and rock music. As it warms up can bring my electric gear out without damage so now I sing and play a whole new genre of music. Very much appreciated you listening in and commenting. Hope all is well

Thanks so here’s the story this song was done by Ole George Jones but I wanted more emotional content with a country twang this is what I came up with. I also heard it on a bar jukebox or 8 track later on cassette isn’t it amazing how music can take you back . Very much appreciated you listening in and commenting. Hope it brought good memories even though my version is different.

Thanks for listening in and commenting. I cant remember where I heard it probably at a bar where I used to play pinball . When I was to young to drink. I would drink Orange Crush I won rifles razors pop from pinball highscore. All at a dew drop in that doesn’t exist anymore. Old George Jones would be playing along with many others in the country bar. Later Emmylou Harris covered it I tried to give it country twang with an emotional male highlights was the goal. I just always liked the song
