Hey friends! Sorry for the late reply here. @MikeGaurnier, thank you for the tag.
I’m very happy to announce that the new Fretboard Wizard has been filmed and is awaiting the final editing phase. We’re aiming for an early Q4 release (possibly sooner).
As someone mentioned in this thread, we’ve been very busy with several platform improvements — weekly streaks, updated UI, and left side navigation — plus our commitment to release a fresh week of daily challenges every month. But Fretboard Wizard has been our most ambitious undertaking ever. We couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve created.
For as awesome as the first version has been for so many folks (now over 20k), the update is many times more awesome.
Yes, it’s been a long time coming. But Tony and I had to get this right. We already had a proven course, so it took us a lot of planning to create something that filled all of our requirements…
We wanted to take it from a course to a daily challenge so it would align with the TAC daily challenge format.
We wanted to make it more bite-sized to remove the overwhelm and increase the completion rate.We wanted to restructure and re-sequence the information so students get bigger breakthroughs earlier in the program (and all the way through to the end). The breakthroughs layer day after day and week after week ending on a high note that empowers you to carry the momentum forward into your daily guitar routine.
We wanted to give students more breakthroughs on their first pass, but ALSO make it more repeatable. This was a huge challenge, but I think we pulled it off!And we wanted to make it exclusively for TAC members so we could more tightly integrated it with the daily challenge. This means we were able to give students specific FretWiz learnings to try within the daily challenge to help integrate new skills.
We’ve also put tons of work into boiling it all down into a reference guide PDF so you can quickly look up the workflows for the common, every day skills like the major scale formula, Nashville number system, and chord matrix.
Anyway, once the new 30-day Fretboard Wizard program is finalized you’ll start to hear more via email and possibly Acoustic Tuesday.
Existing FretWiz alumni will get the update for free as long as they’re a TAC member.
There is truly nothing like this in the world. I know that sounds like hype, but Tony’s unique, “no bs” way of looking at this information really puts this in a league of it’s own.
This is the 10% of music theory that you’ll use with guitar nearly every day, sequenced in a way that’s digestible and presented in a way that helps you use it, not just know it.
It’s a beautiful program.

But please note, the tab is still there and available to download. The icon is just invisible.

Hi! Yes, each Daily Challenge is a part of that month’s “Guitar Routine”. Every month a new guitar routine begins and the previous month’s guitar routine gets retired (and will pop up again in about a year).
To access previous days:
1. While on a Daily Challenge page, look to your left for the list of the current month’s Daily Challenges.
2. Click on any Daily Challenge that has already been released.
Looks like you still have your email address as your screen name. If you click on the menu under your name (upper right), then click “quick start” Tony will guide you through how to change that.
Welcome to TAC!

Hey Michael! It’s an honor to have you in TAC 🙂
So the “Playing Sessions” is based on logging in (we’ll be adding a description next to this stat so it’s more obvious going forward).
So even if you haven’t marked complete on any lessons you’ll still get a “Playing Session” for each day you log in.
When we were considering which metrics to reinforce we wanted to keep it simple while also keeping the focus on the thing that matters most: showing up.

Thanks Jeff –
We will soon have a “news” section on TAC (this is the “blog” if you will). We haven’t added it yet because we’re still ironing out some wrinkles. But it’s coming soon to a TAC sidebar navigation near you 🤠

Hi @Tonya
Sorry about that! The team is working on getting those back in to the jumpstart courses. I’m not sure on an ETA yet but it’s high on the list.

Hi John – great question. I found this on Google but I don’t have an iPad to test it with. But we know from the recent site update that when this happens for folks, a “hard refresh” fixes it.
Follow these steps to perform hard refresh and reload in Chrome iOS:
-
Hi Nicolas,It’s very slow for all of us after a recent website update. The team is working to get speed back.
-
Try not to fret, @dr_dave
The developers have been updating the site (working on speed and caching). There’s been a few times today where we’ve all been automatically logged out and I’m guessing this freak incident is related to all the work behind the scenes.
-
Hey guys, we’re also still seeing page load issues. First, please watch Tony’s video, note the known issues, and check out the quick help articles here…
https://tonypolecastro.com/message-from-tony/
The main thing is that you need to clear your cache.
On Chrome just hold down your shift key while reloading.
For other browsers, please Google: Hard Refresh for whatever browser you’re using.
We’re working hard behind the scenes to speed up the site and get rid of the page load issues.

Great feedback Mark! I like how you tied it back to the the TAC philosophy.
We’ll definitely take this idea into account. Fully thought out and considerate feedback like this is super helpful.

Thanks for the helpful post Derrick. We had no issues when testing browsers. It’s indeed all caching. We’ve since had our developers do a cache purge which has helped considerably as people visit the site for the first time.
On the lack of diversity, we all agree. We’ve been limited to photos we took at our Acoustic Life Festival events (they’re high enough resolution that our designers can edit and create these great designs).
We don’t want to use stock photography. It just goes against our TAC Family vibe.
So if you have ideas about how we might go about getting high resolution photos with happy guitar players (holding guitars, playing, smiling etc) please message me 🙂
We’ve got other design elements in mind so we’re still very much in need of member guitar playing photos (and if you look at forum descriptions, you see we’ve got a plan for always getting fresh member photos). The future of TAC is very member focused. Far more than we’ve ever been.

Yeah, that’s makes sense from your perspective, @punder
In total transparency, in the past a change might have been brought about by finding some new, wizbang technology (the “old” forums, for example, happened this way).
However, after six years, this most recent iteration started the opposite way. What are we? How can we best be that? Now, what technology and features can we use to get that in the simplest way?
It’s a much different sequence than the earlier days where we didn’t understand our members and our method as well so we were more free to try everything to see what worked. Now it’s time to pair down based on data, feedback, and usage observations.
The thing that’s hardest to see from the outside is six years of observation and method iteration used to then have white board brainstorm after white board brainstorm over the course of a year+ to refine a concept.
And in the end, you have to move forward and watch the results in the real world and adjust where needed. 🙂
