Good for you. I wish I had a neighbor who plays guitar. Have fun.

How about Tom Paxton, Eric Andersen, Mary Chapin Carpenter…

You can usually find individual songs online with lyrics and chords and often with tabs. There are also you tube videos “how to play _______” .

Impressive! You pretty much have all you need.

I forget exactly where I heard it, but a. well known player was asked about 12 fret vs. 14 fret guitars. His response was that he didn’t need 14 frets, he could get by with 3.
One of the great things about guitar, there are multiple ways to do the same thing.

Yes, this is my “go to” G chord also. It eases the transition to G7 and also frees up your index and middle to hammer on to fourths and fifths or pick up other complimentary notes.

Yours is a familiar story and a good one. Welcome. Wishing you instruments that stay in tune and people likewise.

Taylors are definitely the most playable. I don’t remember the model number but I played a Grand Concert sized Taylor 12 at Guitar Center a while back and it had a great, resonant, balanced sound. It was also very comfortable to hold and play. Like many guitars, I have since often wondered why I didn’t buy it 🙂
