The Skeeter Davis version was in ’62 or ’63. The Carpenters did a great cover in ’73.
I couldn’t count the covers and there are over 100… Patty Page, Anne Murray, Twiggy, etc…not just girls either… Pat Boone, The Lettermen, etc… I love digging these old songs up and trying them. Thanks, @Christopher_H -
Yes, they surely did. I do recall hearing Skeeter Davis version 1962 or 63 and fell in love with the song… the Carpenters did a great cover in 1973.
