This is a wonderful thing @Cadgirl. And it shows all of us that we should stop worrying that others will judge us harshly if we play in front of them.

That sounds like it was a lot of fun. I’m glad for you @LC_Smith that you caught this. Thanks for sharing it with us.

@Moonhare, I was literally moved to tears by your “confession”. I have been here at TAC long enough to have had several cool offs and subsequent re-ignitions. Thank you for being my latest spark. Don’t get me wrong, every cooling off period didn’t see me put my guitar down or even stop the daily lessons. I just got discouraged and had backed way off the community sharing.
Those are the 2 things that make TAC absolutely unique: 1) The daily lesson method/arrangement. Even when we are in free fall, we are still improving our guitar skills instead of letting our guitar gather dust. And 2) the community helps readjust our unhelpful attitudes or as Tony likes to call them, our limiting beliefs.
I, too, would like to give you a hearty welcome. I, too, look forward to following you and learning from you. In fact, I am going to go subscribe to your YouTube channel right now. And I, too, think you are going to make stellar progress with Tony’s superior method and this amazing community. What I saw when you were playing that little blues line was someone who gets it. You kept rhythm and did the best you could, not worrying about your “mistakes”, not trying to make it “perfect”. That was a really great example for others who are new to both the guitar and music. You are a breath of fresh air to our wonderful community.

A very large benefit of getting the Bm down is that it is a movable chord. Once you can play the Bm, you can also play the C#m. That’s a beautiful sounding chord also.

That was pretty much a “wow” performance Marisa. I totally agree with @Beatrice that you are a natural. Your timing and variety was really great. And I think you have made an excellent start with the getting melody into your strumming. All around amazing job. Thanks for posting.

@Moonhare, I am happy to help. In this case, I consider it giving back as your video post has inspired me very much.

Hey Mark, as another “mechanical” guitar player, I can definitely make some suggestions.
The first one is Tony’s number one fundamental to his teaching method: HAVE FUN!!!
Second, recognize that rhythm is more important than accuracy. Yes, you want to strive for accuracy, but this is music. More than anything else, rhythm defines music. Oh, and there are “no mistakes” in music. You will get more accurate in time… that’s a pun. Over a period of time you will get better, more accurate. But also, if your movements are “in time”, that is rhythmic, you will make faster progress in becoming accurate. Let yourself make mistakes. Strive for fluidity first, precision second.

You’re welcome @Mark. Please let me know how it goes. It didn’t take long for me to see some benefit when I first started. But it has been awhile now and I had stopped doing these exercises regularly as my hand needed a break. But I have much better finger control. This lesson reminded me I need to start doing these again but not over do it.

I know people who do paying gigs who aren’t as good as you are @RealKurt. If you want a paying gig, all you would need to do is put yourself out there. Problem is, you might not make enough money for it to be worth your while.
