It took me weeks to pluck up the courage but once you have one under your belt you can motor. And don’t worry if you can’t get it. just give it 10 then move on. 🤟😎🎸

Great to hear about your first year. It is obvious from what you’ve said the dystem is working for you and will continue to be worthwhile going into year 2. And yes, I would thoroughly recommend posting a tune or two in the Play For Us forum. I put them up even if I’m not quite there with a piece to look back as a record of where I’ve come from. Keep on Rockin in year 2 🤟😎🎸

Congrats and thanks for also posting details of your routine. It really does feel like progress has seeped in to your playing and with that loop round into year two you can tell you’ve moved on.
It is an interesting question to ask about when you move on. I’m 8 months in. I have already made some substantial improvements but I have a long way to go. I will definitely renew and I also hope they will reissue fretboard wizard. Perhaps after a few years it may feel like Tony’s taught what you need to move to the next phase of the journey. One thing I can say is it has been the best 150 bucks I’ve spent on music in a long time. Good luck with year 2. I’d be interested to hear where you think you are after looping round the dailies for a second time. 🤟😎🎸 Darren – Moonhare

Like you @Biff_Gordon I think I’m more comfortable finger picking but this is a perfect challenge for me. My 90 day goal is trying to improve my flat picking and I have found this one really useful to try to get used to string skipping. I have got it at half speed, almost there at 1 but once I make a mistake that throws me completely so I will save this one in favourites to come back to. 🤘😎🎸

I am still playing all this by ear or from the video. I know should be using the tab but I find it really hard to get my head around it.

That is lovely @Loraine ! I really like the use of pinches to do the lead line and bass simultaneously. And the smile at the end is infectious. I’m still grinning. 🤘😎🎸

You did well but obviously a tough crowd! Put a hat out next time. 🤘😎🎸

Loving that. Sweet playing and tone. I’d like to learn a few like that too but I suspect I’m not quite that far along just yet.

Great to hear another classic given the @Marisa treatment! I’d have to
have the capo somewhere else to hit those high notes! Great barre chords
as many others have mentioned – one day I will be there. 🤘😎🎸 -

MemberDecember 2, 2021 at 12:26 pm in reply to: Autumn Leaves – an original track in Open GYes there’s no reason to be in Open G to jam along and I’m glad it worked out. And thanks for your really encouraging comments previously as well. I’ve started learning an Irish flat-picked tune called Con Casey’s Jig and I can tell you it has brought me back to earth with a dramatic thump! But hey, if you don’t try stuff you can’t play you never get better.

To be honest it’s my flat picking that really shows what a beginner I am so I will try to post one of those at the end of December. Finger style is more in my comfort zone because that’s what I used to do when I was a teenager (before I gave up for 40 years!).
