Agree with everyone else, beautifully played. That guitar sounds wonderful.

Great song, great production. Good to collaborate on projects like this so well done both of you! Did you know each other before or is this a TAC bromance? 🤔

Sounds like you fell down the playing rabbit hole there! Perhaps the unintentional break gave you a bit of a reset. I wonder whether not trying so hard also helps. I find my playing sounds most natural when I zone out and stop thinking too hard about what I’m doing.

On piano we have this thing called playing Rubato, which is a fancy way of saying you slow down or speed up to emphasise the emotion of the music. While playing songs on guitar or writing music I won’t use a metronome but for excercises it helps to gradually build up speed. Metronomes that have different sounds can help. I have a click on my computer set to the sound of drum sticks being tapped then a hi-hat for the bar start beat because having played in bands that was the way the drummer counted us in. Different sounds can really help if your app supports them and you can find the one that suits you rather than a standard bleep or click.

My tuner is a really cheap (<$10) korg clip on. I will be investing in a new one (Christmas list maybe?) such as the one @tailsawaggin suggested but even mine shows what note you are on including all the # notes. If your one is only set to do standard tuning then your next investment should be a new tuner. I’m lucky that I can happily tune a guitar by ear using the 5th fret harmonics, but that’s certainly not for everyone and you still need an initial note to work from. I was the kid that tuned everyone’s guitars for them at primary school using either a tuning fork or pitch pipes. I didn’t even play guitar back then! Hope you get sorted out. Darren

I bottled out on some of the niftier licks I have been inserting as I fluff them about 9 times in 10, but on that 1 time…. I start to think I sound a bit like a guitarist. Haha.

I find the tracker works perfectly. Have it on my desktop and fill it in each day. Was a great party and love the breakout sessions too. Enjoy your playing.

Amazing. And all my best wishes for a speedy return to double handed playing. Hang in there. Darren

Holy moly! 200 days in a row is epic. Well done. You’re going to be so p*ssed on the day you miss a session and reset to 1.

OK official guitar envy now! Congrats on the 1 year anniversary and loving this version as ever. Wish I could sing!

Haha. Yes my cloning lab was working overtime this weekend. Not so sure about the bass player though. He may be asked to leave due to his timing deficiencies!

Thanks Marissa – I’m really enjoying the Tuesday licks and it sends you off down a real rabbit hole of possibility.
