Welcome to TAC @WyoBoy52 , and you clearly have a desire and work to achieve it.

I have frequently told people that the daily lessons are a doorway to things I never even thought. I don’t love ALL of them. But by doing all of them, I find that I progress more easily doing things that are not in my wheelhouse.

Example, hammer ons and pull offs require effort, and were never something any teacher provided, but the effect that results is so cool it leads me to experiment on other places to use them, which is leading to being more comfortable understanding what sounds make music wit ha guitar, vs. what I use to be adept at producing, NOISE.

@Jolene , first Welcome to TAC. We are here to help, just ask.

So, the Warmup is designed to be worked on for 10 minutes or so, and then, on to something else (unless it really grabs you and won’t let you go, and then, by all means beat it to submission). And if you can, come back to it every day, and then there will be a new Warm up next Monday (tomorrow as I write this). Getting it perfected is not the goal, get it started, and progress will come.

I would also suggest the 30 day challenge. Why, well, each day of lessons (regardless of how long or short a time it takes you) is a skill that will evolve as you work it. Each of those skills, like the Daily Challenges will grow your overall skill and confidence.

You are already ahead of where I was when I started. You don’t have to unlearn the bad habits of 50 years of not really learning this, so slow, steady, work at it, and you will find you are not useless. After all you have a guitar and a plan. From that you will shortly become what we call a “Guitar Player.”

Lest anyone be in further confusion about it, there are no more “Guitar Parties” each month. We now have “Quarterly Progress Workshops,” I guess like the 90 day WOGI workshops that started in 2019, only now, all by themselves.

@djspaulding , you can also go to https://tac.tonypolecastro.com/communitymap/ and zoom into where you are looking. (This will hopefully be something TAC adds to the new site.) This is the former community map, and any of the people on it put their markers on it before the New Website change over. Most can be reached through clicking on them and messaging them, and if they are still active in TAC, their new ID/Nickname will have taken over on this page, so they will be findable in the new messaging system.

    Good Luck.

Based on other communication, it is clear the “parties” will be quarterly, so the next one is in July. I also noted in the latest AT that the dartboard is no longer menacing the line of guitars under where it used to be.

+1 and the best suggestion is what @jumpin’Jeff recommended. Use it as a training plan, and I suggest hit the 30 days to play, as it will bring back things you do but didn’t know why, and expose you to things you didn’t every dream. After anther 35 days of focused effort, then may your decision, but I think you may find it is worth it.

Welcome to TAC @zadavid, it is good to have you along for the Journey.

Thank you @tacsummer. It became clear through parsing what different things were said, but was not clear when I ask the question. I am hopeful that you can see the entire thread, and bring it to the powers in command, as the sentiments have been widely expressed, and Admin really should know about it (and many other threads, I might add). And, for the record, while many mention getting the Monday e-Mail and the Hollar, in my case, Monday’s did not arrive, fwiiw.

It cannot be easy for Tony and the Developers and the Admin to be having all of this happening and the verbal lashings landing on their electronic backs. And the level of interest being expressed about things that are lost is growing, not receding. Tony is incredibly positive, and I think I see his vision for his baby (not Emerson, this one), but many expressions seeking more information and guidance seem to be the major portion of the discussion I see coming at me, and I certainly have nothing to suggest to them. His vision is not clear to many that he assumes hold it, too.

It would help the transparency that has been oft discussed if there were information provided, regularly. I suggest that some time each couple of days devoted to addressing oft stated concerns may work wonders.

But, thanks for at least making clear what was implied but never actually said about the monthly parties, now quarterly progress workshops.

@PhilBarru, check the e-Mail I sent, and I believe you deactivated the “silence to main ouput” control, but we will see, won’t we.

Doing it right by mistake is Doing it Right. Doing it right and knowing why, means you are Doing it Right and can intentionally repeat it.
