Congrats on finding out what works for you at this point in your journey. Welcome to TAC. I have been in it a little over 2 years. It has helped me a lot.
It is probably better to use lighter picks when starting out because of
the give. It took time before I was able to use the medium and some
heavy picks well, when at first I couldn’t. Looking at, trying, and
getting new equipment as you journey along (including picks), is part of
the fun.It’s such an individual preference. I have settled on two I like the most. The Dava Guitar Picks Control Nylon (about a .8 or .9, giving sturdiness with a little give); or the DuraGrip 1mm; stiffer than the Dava, but not too heavy. For me, the comfort and feel I like; but also a great tone.
It’s fun to experiment with different picks; and amazed me the difference in feel and sound as I have played around with them. Good luck in your venture! -

Thanks much! Yes; remembering sometimes is tough. I make a lot of lists, and write a lot of things down. I have limited capacity to remember music I learned to play from memory. Guitar tabs and lyrics are a part of my musical future I am sure.

Yes; the magnet you put inside it has four legs with adhesive pads on them. You do want to a practice run of where you will put it. Follow the directions, watch a video; it isn’t that bad. I was a bit tentative putting it in, not wanting to damage the guitar. You shouldn’t have to mess with that again unless removing it. It doesn’t affect sound when I use it without the amp and is light weight. It can be removed if needed without damage, just takes a little care.The device itself then attaches by the magnet. It does have two adhesive strips also, but they only recommend using one of them with the magnet. It is best to take it off after each use; which is easy and quick.
