I was looking for a public link in my saved links library and came up empty. Here is a pdf that I put together, some of them come from a previous program I was in, the others are diagrams I downloaded frome somewhere (don’t remember where. The second page has chord diagrams I created for 5* Hotel bench mark challenge, you’ll probably find them handy.

I don’t know of anything like that on the TAC website. I will look for something and post it.

I don’t know which challenge you are working in. We’re doing Lightnin’ Hopkins. I don’t recall any Wind and Rain challenge.

I cannot count the number of days I didn’t have the previous days challenge “down”. Even now, 19 months since I started TAC, it happens. I don’t worry about it, the same skill will repeat very soon. Tony’s program isn’t supposed to cause you stress or anxiety. Just do the best you can each day for ten minutes. Mark complete and if you desire to continue, do it! Otherwise come back tomorrow for a new challenge!

@billsandbeaks56gmail-com I agree with @MattTX_24 that it’s peculiar to come to the forum ask for people to support your dislike for the methods used here. For me it was great day 1, week 1 and month 1. The old timers on the this website will undoubtedly sing its praises! I know of several who have been here for 5 – 10 years and are still showing up regularly.

There was never at time when I thought it wasn’t for me. This doesn’t mean it was a basket of roses all the time, but it’s the best darn learning program that I know of!

I for one have only praise for the TAC approach, I think it’s unparalleled. There are dozens, perhaps hundreds of options out there, I tried 2 others before TAC and became a lifer here. After 18 months in the program I have added on another learning program that I find will help me get the level I want to be at in a more efficient way, but I am still doing the daily challenges regularly.

Thank you @TMutter and @DiscostewLA for helping veterans and thank-you all veterans for your service! We are deeply indebted to you! I pray for you, your families and fallen friends!

Kind of, but not exactly. Yours is a good way of looking at it too, as it does require that we put forward effort and not just stay parked in our comfort zones.

“A horse will only move forward if the carrot is out in front of him. If he catches up to the carrot, he stops, as there is no need to go forward.” – @the-old-coach

My interpretation: the challenge can’t be something you already have in the bag, it has to be a desirable thing you are trying to gain. And if it’s so close I can get it in an instant then my momentum stops before it really gets going.

@the-old-coach so true! And, if you could do these challenges immediately, what does that say? To me it says that it wasn’t challenging and/or I didn’t learn anything.

@ur1260web-de @billsandbeaks56gmail-com we are people wanting to learn guitar just like you. We’ve been here a bit longer so we’re a bit more familiar with the program but we aren’t paid promoters trying to coax you. We hate to see people give up because their expectations are unrealistic and we want everyone to have fun playing guitar like we are but that’s the extent of it. We’re not gaining by you staying here besides being able to chat with you here.

And @DZRShodan it’s amazing! When you are hitting a wall and just not getting it, in those moments the greatest learning is happening. Down the line when you’re not expecting it, you’ll suddenly be able to do it! TAC is not a linear program that you need to worry about keeping up with it. It always circles back, and I don’t just mean that the same challenges come back, but the content in the challenges keep coming back around in different settings.

That’s why @Loraine says, stick around and wait for the magic to happen!

Oh and that pause, rewind, repeat business? Eventually that fades away. You’ll do that a lot in the beginning and then less and less over time.

I knew it would be you @jorgemac , who would answer right away! Thanks for your encouragement, I’ve been a pretty handy guy my entire life but only started my guitar journey at 64, so your input is much appreciated! I have purchased a few tools but I’m not well equipped yet.

When you say blank, are you suggesting unslotted too or pre-slotted?

@gmhendersonme-com it has gotten better each time through but I’m 5 rotations on most of the benchmarks and I am still not where I want to be although I’m 1000% better than the first time. As long as the general trend is upward…

@Tpolecastro since I was named in your post I want to proclaim once again that I believe TAC, despite having a few warts, is the best learning site I have ever been involved with! This is not exclusively a comparison to other guitar or music training sites either. I mean online training of all kinds: software, business, self improvement the full spectrum. I’m 66 and worked in IT from 1997 until 2017 and worked in technology for most of my life. I don’t know the number of courses that I ever took and/or administrated, but I’m sure it’s in 3 figures.

None have ever drawn me in the way TAC does! Most courses rely solely on the discipline of the student to return to study regularly. TAC has a magnetism that is unparalleled! I highly doubt that I would be a guitar player today if I hadn’t found this site in July of 2024. Thanks for creating this amazing platform

Wow! It sounds like you’ve been doing a lot of playing to get such a callous build-up! I don’t ever get anything caught on mine. But I do wash dishes a lot, so that’s likely softening them constantly. I only rarely run my dishwasher, just seems to be more work than handwashing!
