Wow. Wow. (Did I remember to say “Wow?”)
What control and expression! Stunning.

Great story, Nolan. It’s hard to believe you’re here for only a year. You made quite an impression on me very quickly, and I really respect your playing and your comments. Thanks for sticking around. You’re good company.

“Don’t give up, find the joy in the ride.”
As usual, @jumpin’jeff nailed it. That’s what what he does. Keep on loving the guitar. In time, the guitar will give it back many times over.

Outstanding, David. What a wonderful job on a really great song.

Oh, I see I mis-interpreted what Spectre was originally saying. I was starting with an open C chord, but I was confused about what was moving and I did not have a guitar in hand. Instead of mentally “dropping” the middle finger (to a higher-pitched string) to fret an A on the G string, my mind was “dropping” the ring finger (to a lower-pitched string) to fret a G-note on the A string. I now understand Stan’s reply, which had me really confused since I was picturing a G in the bass position. No doubt Stan was equally confused by what I offered. I was analyzing the wrong chord! I’m a bit of a visual learner, and once I had the wrong picture in my mind, I was doomed.

Perhaps there’s no way even if you do. I don’t know how to search for a person’s profile page, and the new message form does not seem to work.

Wishing you all the best, JesseW. Congrats and I hope you have continued success on your TAC journey. I never had trouble finding the daily lessons and completing them on the old site, so I’m really baffled trying to understand why the changes had to be so drastic. Many are lamenting the change in the forum operation and focus. I’m also lamenting the loss of a lot of content, materrial that never got in my way as far as completing the daily lessons.

Well, I struggled my way back to the “compose new message screen” by clicking “Message” on the profine page of another member to whom I did not want to send a message. From there, I was able to navigate to a list of prior PM conversations I’ve had, but I still have not figured out a way to send a message to an individual whose profile I have no way to access. This site is really not intuitive to me. Was it a desired outcome of the recent re-design to curtail use of the PM feature?

I see a way if I can access the member’s profile page, but in the particular case I am trying to send a message to someone whose profike page I don’t know how to reach. I can’t currently locate any posts by the member I am trying to contact.

It depends on context. I think of it as an Am7/G, i.e. an Am7 with a G (the flat 7) in the bass position.

Jeff – I saw your post. It didn’t get lost in cyberspace, rather my original post to which you responded was vaporized by the alien cruisers. Since we moved to new TAC digs, I developed this nasty habit of writing posts that vanish. I have had quite a few posts disappear without a trace. In this case, it must have left your reply as an orphan. I just saw your reply a minute ago via checking one of my notifications. I’ll see if that is still visible or whether it is like the tapes that gave Jim his assignments on “Mission: Impossible.” Remember, jeff, should you or any of your IM forces be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. Good luck, jeff.

Thanks @AttyTJ . I had success using similar directions (actually a few days ago – this is very close to what jumpin’ jeff recommended), but I especially appreciate the added information about the site tweaking. Wow, I didn’t need a user manual for the old site but I do find I need one for the new, “simplified” site.
I foreshadowed this a bit during a mentor “Town Hall” last Fall, during which many of us first learned that a “new TAC site” was under development. I suffer from something I call “memory permanence.” Once I become very familiar with how a program works, my mouse goes on “autopilot” and I do most things without really having to think about it. But software developers are constantly working to put me at a disadvantage by changing the way sites look and feel, hiding controls in menus where I’d never think of looking. The result is that I’m constantly struggling, and too often unsuccessfully, to learn how to do things that I used to know how to do yesterday without even thinking about it. I think this should be added as a modern definition of “progress.” Forgive me for being honest.

Thanks, Jeff. I was remiss in not replying a couple days ago. I had success using your directions.

This is one of many treasures in the old forum that I’m going to miss terribly. Does anybody know an easy way to download and archive a YouTube video so I can save it before TAC decides to take it away forever?
