It’s always a pleasure to listen to you perform @Omar_A.H. Great pitch for the vocals and I really like the raked strums which are peppered through the song, they add a nice flavour to tone.

Thank you @Marisa and @Bill_Brown! This one’s great fun to play and hopefully that came through in the performance.

I’m flattered @Alisa! Thank you so much. Yes, Heroes is a great song to really focus on smooth chord changes, and they’re all open chords as well. Glad you enjoyed the performance and it was of help to you. 🙂

That should say “where I DON’T need to look at the TAB”.

Cheers @staustin. I’m not listening to it, just playing from memory with the occasional glance at the chord progression written in my notebook. Most songs I’ve played at VOMs I’ve learned to the point where I need to look at the TAB or my notes, but this was a song I only decided to play a couple of minutes before going live. When I learn songs I certainly play along to the recording, but after that I just play independently, which is a good test of one’s timing.

Hi @Cherie. Glad you enjoyed it. You should definitely come along to the VOMs. On TAC on the page ‘Play for Us’ there is a link for more details. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Azx0ah3P2M3dAPN-mSPoR0cSg4rbiwbe/view
Basically you’ll need to download Zoom if you haven’t got it already and then simply click the link for each VOM, which is on their blog.

One other thing I’ve stumbled across recently, although I don’t recall where, is playing the relative minor scale over major backing tracks. The 6th degree of any major key is it’s relative minor, so for C major, it’s A minor; which has the same notes as the C major scale, just in a different order. Give it a try and you might be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks @Marty69. 🙂
