First congratulations for entering the “guitar playing arena”! it is full of fun but also dusty and full of both joy and frustration ! For me I tackle a new skill, work on it for a bit and I will move on before I master it. I have found that when I do that my frustration ebbs, and sometimes the next lesson is actually easier for me. As I kept moving forward I found that when I went back to the lessons I struggled with they had become a bit more easy than when I left them behind. There is something to be said for a steady pace through the entire lesson block, and then repeat the entire block – several times. It goes from “what is this ?” to “this is hard” to “oh that one again” to “that wasn’t so bad” and finally “holly cow I can play this “. 😆 Just keep moving forward and enjoy the journey!

yes Albert ! love that quote from Teddy – and dualistic thinking is prevalent all over the world and feels like its increasing – it is what inspired me to write the song.

I am working through the Washington Solderers Home which is run by the VA. Fortunately they seem to be pretty organized and a back log of demand.

Thats awesome. Especially with so many schools reducing or eliminating music programs. I did a similar thing when my kids were in elementary school but I focused on hand drumming (I didnt play the guitar at that point) using instruments I had collected around the world. So it was music, a little geography, foreign language (forte, pianissimo…. etc). Have fun – I bet the kids are loving it!

I was thinking …”bears…. hmmm… Alaska ?” I see know we are not too far away. I passed through your area on the way to Carnation tonight (well Wednesday night) for a great open mike at Millers. Last Wednesday of each month (except December).
