👏👏👏 Yes, the backing track moved at a pretty good clip @Jonathandavid , but your fretting fingers (and pick) were up to the task IMHO. I can only mirror the words of @Kitman when it comes to describing what I heard (and saw) and the joy of listening to your work. I wish you the best of journeys from here, I understand that you must do what you feel you have to do to maneuver along your path. Just know that you’ll be missed🎸🤘

Good work @Cadgirl 👏👏 Now to make it more interesting, using the same chord shapes, find the 1-4-5 chords in the key of A, then C, and then D – you can keep going if you like, but the point is to notice the patterns between the chords relative to their location along the neck. Have fun🤩🎸🤘
hint: if you make the 1 chord an E shaped barre, the 4 & 5 chords are going to be A shaped, so if you make the 1 chord from an A shape, what shape will the 4 & 5 chords be?🤣

Hey @the-old-coach , I have a 1996 made in Mexico Fender Stratocaster (black w/ white pic guard) that I bought last year used for $350 in excellent condition – no nicks, no scratches, in A1 shape. I couldn’t believe I got it at that price point. The salesman at the guitar shop that I purchased it from said, when I asked why is this guitar being sold at this price, “Well, it’s made in Mexico”. I asked , “Well, what does that mean?” He said “Nothing really, it’s just not made in the US”. So I’m still playing around with the height adjustments for the pic-ups, but I feel that I fell onto a gem of a guitar for that price IMHO, YMMV.
So if you can get it for a price that satisfies you, GO FOR IT!!!

Hi @punkusmhotmail-com , that design is typical of a Martin fretboard. I have a 00015m and the design on the fretboard is 2 diamonds on the 5th, 1 diamond on the 7th and 2 diamonds on the 9th – giving a symmetrical design look to the observer.

Now all that being said, I just purchased a “cling-on” pick-up for my 00015m, so I guess I’ll be getting into that electronic gear stuff that I’ve tried to stay away from. I’ll let you know how it goes for me once I get it hooked up🤨🧐😎

So far so good @Cadgirl , everything you’ve said is correct for the key of A using just the E shaped & A shaped barre chords! Great work, but I also want you to see the pattern on the fretboard with using those 2 barre chord shapes. (take a look at the “hint” I gave you.)
P.S. Doing the scales is extra credit! (lol)😂

Yes @punkusmhotmail-com , my fret markers are on the side also, but on the face of the fretboard is the “design” that I described.
