Hi @PineTreePicker , I found that the 1st time I recorded myself playing, I had more trouble and headache setting up a YT account (free) and then manipulating the video file onto YT. After accomplishing that feat (lol), I had no problem with letting other people see my work. Just keep in mind that you can do as many takes as needed until you’re satisfied with one of them.
One pitfall for me was that I had no idea how to record myself. I started out by trying to use the camera on my computer and recording to a Movie app. I had a lot of problems with controlling the sound input & output with that app, which caused a lot of static on the recordings and resulted in some bad videos. Eventually I got a new iPhone and started recording on that – no more sound issues with the recordings.
Best of luck,
BB

That was a beautifully played composition @JulieI 🤩👏👏 I really enjoyed listening to the sound you created and watching your finger picking😎 I thought your transition between the 2 tunes was very nicely done😘 Thank you for sharing the fruits of your labor with us🙏

That was an awesome rendition @Philb 👏👏👏 Your voice sounded great – first time I saw you record using a microphone – do you think that helped with your vocals?🤔 Great playing also🎸🤘Wonderful overall performance Phil🤩👍👍

Great to see and hear you in action my friend @Marty69 🤩👍 Glad to see that you’re feeling better (hope you are)🎸🤘😎 There is something familiar (to me) with the sound of that G-C-D portion of your chord progression🤔 I feel like I’ve jammed with you while you played something similar, or is that just my imagination😱

That was a nice rendition @That_Guy 👏👏👏 I liked how you were able to make quick chord changes at that fast tempo and still keep time👍🎸🤘

Hi @stevieblues , congrats on that #500 milestone👏👏🍻
Sorry to hear that you’re feeling under the weather – I know that there’s a lot of bad stuff out there (besides Covid) these days that vaccinations don’t cover, like RSV and other respiratory viruses. Drink lots of fluids (non alcoholic) and rest as much as possible – if symptoms continue beyond 2 weeks, see your doctor ASAP. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Happy NGD @stevieblues 🍻🤘🎸👏🤩
I’ve always dreamed of having an SG model, hope you enjoy playing it – when I was young, I used to put all the knobs on 10 on my amp 😱🤣😎

@Philb that’s a nice little amp for $25 (I was able to see the photos). Yes, so for me, it’s mic & guitar plug into the AI, which plugs into the computer and has to run through some software before it gives an output. I can control the input, but not the volume of the live output – very frustrating. The AI does have direct output ports and my brother-in-law gave me some speakers, but I haven’t fooled around with it since to see if that would work. I’m not very “tech savvy” and so for me, the iPhone works fine – I don’t need all this other stuff, besides, the guitar I play 99.99% of the time doesn’t have a pick-up, so I have to use the same mic for vocals and sound – so what’s the point of fooling around with that stuff anyways? I do have to say that my brother-in-law gave me a small mic and stand to use for the guitar, but I’d already given up on the AI.
Yes, I know the point is “leveling the vocals and guitar” – which has worked great for you (your video is proof of that), and for you it can be done simply, thanks to the amp you have and the mic input it contains. Lesson learned for me, find an amp that has a separate channel for a mic – no AI needed, just MHO.
Phil, I have to say that I believe the way you used your equipment has really enhanced the quality of your performance. And you said it yourself, by leveling the vocals and guitar, you could concentrate more on tone and staying on key when singing and not worry about singing too loud. Big kudos to you Phil👏👏👏 I think you’ve come onto a “breakthrough” moment with your journey🎸🤘👍

@Marty69 , my thoughts and prayers are with you my friend. It sounds like a complicated situation, I just hope things can go as planned, without any hold-ups because this Community needs you and your input🎸🎼🤘

Hey @Philb , yes I have a mic but I don’t use it because it requires an audio interface (AI). Long story short, I can get a good enough recording from my iPhone. Now the idea that you can plug a mic directly into your amp intrigues me, and that you’re able to “level” the guitar to the voice seems much less complicated than dealing with the inter workings of an AI. I think you’re on a good path with that set-up you have!
