Hi @62promise and welcome to the TAC community. I can’t add much to what’s been said. Just do your best, and you’ll see progress and begin to improve form and you’ll recognize when something sounds right. You don’t need to play at the level of Tony, just do the best you can and you’ll definitely move forward and see improvement. Keep asking questions in the forums and you’ll receive some great advice, insight, encouragement, etc. Have fun and keep on plunking!

Hi @steve48 , I agree with Mike, put in the minimum of 10 minutes per day on the lesson (more if you like) and mark the lesson complete. You can still go back to it in your free time if you like, but as Mike pointed out the goal is not to master the lesson before moving on. All the lessons throughout a week build upon each other, so you’ll still be practicing the skills. You will notice improvement with just the minimum time committed. TAC teaches foundational skills and you will see the lessons again (they restart about every 8 months or so), and you will notice the 2nd time around that the lessons come much easier, because you’ve had 8 months of practice at the minimum time daily.
Keep on plunking, and you’ll continue to move forward. Have fun with the lessons and celebrate the victories and small wins and push aside the frustrations and imperfections.

MemberNovember 2, 2021 at 2:55 pm in reply to: 5 day Blues Challenge in a 7 day streak (plus some)Awesome win Nick! A 50 year old guitar doesn’t necessarily mean a bad guitar. Many older guitars are aged well and play beautifully. I have a 1973 Guild that sounds and plays great. But, I will never talk someone down from purchasing a new guitar. There’s no better feeling than when you find one that plays and sounds awesome.

Hi @aisenstadt@msn.com Since it’s a new month you’re not able to access lessons from previous months. I typically save them all as favorites and save the tabs, but you would have to go to my member page and look through favorites to see which ones. I can’t remember the names from last week. If you figure out the names and want the tabs, just let me know which ones and I’ll post them here.

Definitely a great win @Guitargeezer-Jack ! I’m amazed at the improvement I’ve seen the 2nd time around. Can’t wait for the next round and even more improvement. You’re now a true guitar geek and mentor to others with less experience! Keep up the great work!

That’s a great win Kevin!! Keep up the great work (er practice that is). 🙂

Hi @OC. – There are several ways to make the G chord, and it is personal preference and what sound you are looking for in a song that determines which to use. The 4 finger G chord is not new, it is just another way of playing a G.

Hi @801dda – I’ve only dealt with shaky hands/tremors occasionally, but it’s not a constant matter. Other than meditation, relaxation techniques, being well rested and maintaining my diet to keep my blood sugar level, I can’t say I have a solution. If it’s a constant matter, you may want to speak with a neurologist.

Hi Felicia – Welcome to TAC! I’m sorry you’re experiencing soreness in your arm and elbow. What size guitar do you have? If it is too large, that could be part of the problem, and you might consider a smaller guitar. Secondly, how you hold the guitar and rest your right arm might need adjusting. Your right arm should hug and fit comfortably against the body of the guitar. Also, if you are too tight in your stance, that could cause problems. Relax and try and play from your wrist and not your elbow and arm. If the problem continues, stop playing for a bit and rest your arm. You don’t want the issue becoming a larger one, such as tendinitis or tennis elbow. See a doctor if it persists.

The course, itself, is located in the Skills section. If you want additional information regarding it, my suggestion would be to ask TAC Support.

TAC used to allow you to access the previous 2-3 months of lessons, but when they transitioned to the new site they did away with that capability. – presumably to save server space .
