@Skyman911 Your system sounds like me. :). I had great intentions of filing all my sheet music, and having it make sense, but I have haphazard binders, piles on my table and pretty much all over the house. I try to pull it all together and reorganize about once a month.
I took several binders and I placed songs I wanted the paper copies for in one binder. But I didn’t really organize alphabetically, by genre, etc. I put many in plastic sleeves which I think makes it so much easier to handle. They take up extra space in binders. I actually started just saving chord sheets on ultimate guitar, and I just pull the, up and put them on auto scroll and play away! Kllll I did keep ukelele in a separate binder. I had separate one for my private lessons and homework. Instructor is great for synopsizing the lesson and also spelling out what my focus for the week should be. I keep TAC tabs saved as pdfs in folders labeled by the 5 days of the week and the focus area (I.e. Monday- Technique; Tuesday – Lick; Wednesday – Scale/Improv; Thursday-Rhythm; Friday – Chord Transitions). I have a cabinet that houses my books. I keep theory together, classical, rock (99.99% of my songs), and ukulele.
My intentions to maintain it were real and geared towards making it simpler. Reality is that it’s burdensome upfront and when updating, but the overall thought is that it is worthwhile in the end. I just have to be committed to updating and filing.

Another great performance @KevinZ . Great base strumming and timing, and as usual vocals were a great fit for the song.

@AlbertCW Welcome and congratulations on completing the 30 days to play challenge! That’s awesome. It was a fun course, and I actually finished it believing my dream of playing the acoustic was attainable. I think you have a solid handle on this and are completing all the recommended courses and starting the daily challenges. Keep in mind with the dailies that some will come easily and others may be a great challenge. Just do your best. Try to play at least 10 minutes and then mark the challenge complete. Don’t worry about perfection. The goal is progress. Keep moving forward. Even though it may not feel as you’ve accomplished something, you are getting better, just by trying. When lessons roll back around (8-12 momths), you’ll be able to gauge your progress. Ask questions along the way, if necessary. Have fun!

This was fantastic @DiscostewLA ! I would like the falsetto version too – only fair if you’re saying it’s a cover 🤣 (just kidding). Vocals were a bit louder than usual, so keep on working on increasing volume. Overall, I was really impressed with the strumming /pick pattern; picking, because your accuracy was so good and the notes rang out clear. I agree, the runs were great. Thanks so much for sharing!

@Fret_Nothing Great job completing the first 2 weeks of the 30 day challenge. That was a really fun course, and I actually felt like I would be able to play the guitar. Fretboard Wizard is a great corse, and it follows the same format with a video and then challenges and quizzes. It is a fun course. I never thought I would find any part or form of theory to be interesting. I just started taking it again. Most people revisit it yearly. You’ll learn something new each time.
Don’t be a stranger in the forums, and ask questions if something doesn’t make sense or is just plain confusing.
Keep on plunking!!🎸

@Raffers Welcome the TAC family! You’ll fit right back in. You’re smart starting from the beginning and trying to correct old bad habits. Ask questions, post videos, tell is more about you, what motivates you, what guitar(s) you habe and their ages. A large majority of TAC members started playing in later years and retirement. Many, like me, had a dream of always playing, and we jumped on the chance during COVID. Enjoy your journey, and have fun! Thank you for posting a video. Great job on Sundance. You had smooth chord transitions, level strum pattern and timing, nice percussive, and nice vocals!
Keep on plunking!!

Welcome to the TAC community @Mrjoshc ! I understand your frustration with fingers just not cooperating the way we want. Many fingers share the same tendons with other fingers, and they often move together. Through exercises that do individual finger strength and finger placements on different frets, you’ll eventually build strength and train your fingers to act more independently. This will also help with keeping the hand closer to the fretboard.
With regard to the 30 days to play, just keep doing your best, but try and keep the flow moving forward. Do the lessons for a minimum of 10 minutes and mark complete. You can still work on the lesson, but don’t get stuck on it. Move to the next lesson, even if you haven’t “perfected” the lesson. TAC teaches progress over perfection. You will continue to get better by following this practice. Everything builds skills and helps you progress and get better. You can always revisit a lesson later.
As a side note, if you really want to revisit something again, hit the heart to save a lesson to favorites. Your favorites show up under your profile.

Thanks @Marty72 ! It was great seeing you at the VOM.

Thanks Greg. I guess you could say I’m dedicated or I like horrifying myself and others. Haha. What I found was that with each video, I’m getting better. The videos help me gage how I’m doing. Good and bad.

Anyway, thank you for your kind words. One you forgot was “and you’re having fun!” Which I definitely am. There’s a sense of freedom and joy that playing, singing and posting of my journey brings. Even though I’ve got a long way to go and am not super great.
