@GGG_GrannyGoneGangster That must feel really awesome! What a great win!
As for the 12 barre blues, give it an honest try, but remember, it is not about perfection . TAC teaches us to simply focus on our effort and progress. My suggestion is that if you worked at it at least the minimum 10 minutes, mark the lesson complete. That doesn’t mean you have to stop working on ot. Feel free to give it a day or 2 try, but then move on. Any more than that might backfire and you get worse, or even worse yet you become frustrated and quit. If you want to revisit something at a later time, make a note of the name of the lesson and click the small heart icon at the bottom right of the video. The video will then be stored in your profile, and you can access it at any time. Tony suggests that we keep moving forward. I think you’ll be surprised in 6 mos./a year when you look back and realize that you are so much better than you started out as.

@Corncob18wheels I feel ya! I’m the same way. I learn by doing, m
Not by being lectured to or necessarily by book. I need to physically do it, hear it, etc. I think that’s how the metronome helped me. But a funny story. I go to open mics, and the theme was songs in 3:4 or 6:8 time, and the majority of us were at a loss as to what that meant (which made me feel better). It was a great night of learning and practicing and playing.

Yes, as @Puppy said – First open the favorite, and when the video shows just click the heart icon. It will not be in your favorites any longer.

Your chord transitions were good, with slight hesitations while you found the Bb & F chords, but they will get easier with time. I still hesitate, but I’ve gotten faster and more accurate. I try to practice transitioning between the chord before the barre and then the barre. I start out real slow, making sure I don’t touch the strings until I can plant all my fingers at the same time, and then put them down on the strings and just hold the position for a bit to build muscle memory. Then I take my fingers off and start again back and forth between the chord before the barre chord over and over. If you try this, my suggestion is to set the metronome at a really slow speed to begin with like 20, 40 bpm. On every 4th beat transition to the other chord. This gives you plenty of time to get your fingers positioned over the strings and press down. As you can meet that time stamp, start to increase the speed slowly by 3-5 bpm and do it again. It won’t feel like it’s really speeding up that way, but you’ll be gradually getting faster with your transitions. Anyway, great job!

Really nicely written and composed @AttyTJ . The entire situation has just been heartbreaking to watch. I’ve never been there, but I hear it was quite beautiful prior to the fires. The loss and devastation are simply unfathomable. Great tribute to the situation.

Hi @yudncha I think you go to your profile and it will list your username and you can change it there. If not, try messaging Support using the button at the bottom left of your screen. Victoria is really good about responding quickly.

New strings are the bomb, aren’t they. Congratulations on your new guitar. Have you posted photos of it yet? Would love to hear it too.

I’ll tell you, driving long distance is a rough job. Being on the road everyday, dealing with others on the road, the monotony of the road, and being alone so much. Yes, you talk on the CB or meet up at truck stops, but it’s still a difficult life. I’m so happy you have your guitar and TAC to keep you company. I’ll tell you, the people on the TAC forums helped lift me from a deep depression when I first became a member. It was during Covid, and I was locked in the house working full time and also as a full time caregiver for my mother with Lewy Body dementia, which is the most difficult dementia. I felt so isolated and alone, and if it weren’t for the TAC community and my newfound love of acoustic guitar, I’m not sure how it would have been. I’m not inferring your depressed. I’m actually trying to relay my understanding of what you live with. I’m happy you found us.

@legeraghtygmail-com Welcome to the TAC community! I think others may have asked this in the past, if I remember correctly. There are times that Tony may change a note or chord when he’s teaching the lesson. You can play the tab with either, and you’ll be okay.

@Annie-Plays-Guitar Unfortunately, there won’t be any future Progress Parties. Tony disbanded them at the last one, because he and his wife were expecting their 2nd child. He has also disbanded Acoustic Tuesdays. It sounds as if he has the added commitments on the home front, but he’ll be taking a lot of his focus to reaching out to masses via YouTube now. He plans to still talk about the 3 month progress checks and will address them more in the daily lessons. You can reach out to Support too if you need further information. The Support button is at the bottom right of the screen. Victoria would be happy to assist you.

@Corncob18wheels I’m not sure why the link didn’t upload that I posted of the YouTube video of Tony explaining tablature and how to read it . I’m reattaching. If it doesn’t show up, just Google Tony Polecastro How to Read Tab, and the video link shows up.

Rodney, Sorry about that. I didn’t realize they were pictures of your new guitar, because of the paint tape. I hadn’t looked closely. It is a beautiful guitar.
