@dbws95gmail-com Welcome to TAC. @Booker makes a great suggestion that I second. If there is a lag in the system that you find unacceptable, Contact Victoria at Support to discuss it. She may have an answer or solution, or she may have a ticket opened with IT. There is a slight lag when clicking on new areas (dailies, forums, etc). That has always been present since TAC switched websites and systems. It is greatly improved from the initial launch o the new website.

@Stryder Welcome to TAC! Most people start with the 30 days to play, and then move onto the daily challenges and skills courses. There is no set agenda. Whatever your interests are will direct what direction you go. If you’ve signed up for Fretboard Wizard, that is a great line of study. I’m not sure your skill level. I had absolutely no prior skills, and I ok the 30 days to play, the next 6 chords, then began the daily challenges and took skills courses in stretching, the Jumpstart to Fingerpicking and flatpicking and strumming courses. Then I took Fretboard Wizard, and then I just began picking and choosing at random. Have fun with it!

@Bud6333 Welcome back. I think we all go through slumps of varying degrees. Enjoy where you are and ride out the journey. 🙂

@TJ… @HeavyHand The lessons are available until the end of the month, then a new month starts and the previous month is not accessible. Last Friday marked the last lesson of the month, and lessons for June began 6/5. Not to fret though … All the lessons rotate back around every 8-9 months. I have the lesson favorited, so you can search my favorites for the lesson if you know the name of it.

Hi @David-D and welcome to the TAC family! I hope you are able to jump right in. I suggest you start with the 30 days to play course, even if you have some knowledge of playing already. It’s a fun course, and you’ll learn a lot. Look around the forums and the courses. If you feel more comfortable waiting to start the daily lessons, while you go through the 30 day used to play course, that is perfectly okay. Many people do that. Hope you have lots of fun, and don’t be a stranger in the forums.

FANTASTIC WIN! That is so cool @TheRealRobbo ! I remember that moment, and it just made me want to keep playing and getting better. I was brand new to the guitar and was a slow player for a long time. I began first with getting fingering right and clear notes and chords. Then I worked more on chord transitions, and then on my strumming technique, and so on and so on. Then seemingly overnight something clicked and came together, and I was able to play songs that somewhat resembled real music. It was so exciting .
Keep putting one foot in front of the other, take baby steps, and you will continue to progress and be amazed. Keep up the great work!

Very haunting @Fletch . Such a sad state – I had seen something about this a while back. Scary and terribly sad. Nicely written and performed. Maybe it will bring awareness to others.
-
Beautifully performed @Marty72 . Your version is more elaborate than mine, possibly because you hand strum and cross pick. Very nice!

@That_Guy OMG, I loved this song too when it first came out (still love it)! You did such a great job with it!

@Philb Great job with playing. Great tone, and a little reverb, and you nailed the essence of the song. Loved the hat. :). I’m a huge CCR fan, so really enjoyed this.

@Greg_Weber Great performance! Tempo, timing and vocals were spot on. Looked like you were having so much fun.

@Seven Many have felt the same pain as you in getting comfortable with a pick. Picks are a personal preference. I have bowls full of all shapes and sizes of picks and various thicknesses, but there are only a few I actually like to play with.
I’m the opposite of you, in that I’ve relied almost solely on flatpicking and strumming, and I’m so awkward fingerpicking. I love @TMutter suggestion of always having picks with you and holding them in your hands as often as possible. This resins your brain and fingers.
I agree with the other suggestions of going to a lighter pick for strumming, and a harder gauge for flatpicking. I think my favorite pick is a .60. It took me a long time to find one I like. My favorite are actually quite expensive compared to the big names. They’re made at a small shop, and I like the grip and the overall feel of the picks, but it took me over 2 years of trying a number of different picks to find them.
Simply put, just put your best foot forward and you’ll eventually be rather comfortable with them.

@the-old-coach Whoopwhoop!! Congratulations on your 750th playing session. That is a huge feat! Nearly 2 full years is definitely worth celebrating!
You’ve been a great inspiration and rock to me since you joined TAC. Thank you for that! Keep on plunking away and having fun.
