@KayMesser I’m sure the subject has been covered, I wanted to point out that even when there were 3 videos at different speeds, all Tony did was speed up or slow down the videos to show the different speeds. He didn’t play each one separately at the different speeds. So, in essence using the 1x drop down and changing the speed either faster or slower does exactly what the previous videos did. Typically Tony will give the base speed at 1x, so you can determine the slower and faster speeds by adjusting up or down based on the speed chosen.
The metronome is an invaluable tool. As a beginner, play at a very slow speed, and as you improve, increase in increments of 3-5 bpm until you’ve reached the base bpm.
I understand the confusion over the older videos mentioning the 3 speeds. If you find that a disclosure would be beneficial, my suggestion is to contact Victoria at Supprt (button in bottom left and opens to chat window). Make the suggestion that it be sdded and why it would be beneficial. Maybe TAC will incorporate it.

Thats very cool @albert_d ! Should be very interesting. You’ll have to give us the rundown after you attend. Old Town Chicago is very cool. I lived in Chi-town (SW suburbs) for 36 years. Enjoy!

@Tjad_Dalesson Congratulations on your 1st TACiversary! Sounds as if you’ve made great strides in your journey and are enjoying the ride

Really enjoyed this @TMutter . I’m amazed at your abilities and being able to learn so quickly. Your use of a pick has gotten really good. Congratulations on your new single!

Loved this @TMutter . Have you posted the full song on the Quarterdeck? What’d the venue think of the song? How’d the rain affect your guitar? Was it difficult to keep tuned? It would’ve played havoc on my sinuses and vocals, but you both sounded great. Your daughter has a beautiful voice.

Very nice. You have vocals that were very complimentary of each other. The basic picking was nice. Strumming may have overpowered the the vocals.

@KevinZ I’m so sorry for your loss. I would have a difficult time performing at my mom’s funeral. I still get emotional, and it’s been a year and a half.
This was quite beautiful. I’m sure she was looking upon you and smiling with such pride.

@mike-fCongrats on 90 days! I like your positive attitude and the realization that things are challenging, but as time goes on you’ll improve and move forward faster. It’s all about patience, diligence and practice. Glad you’re having fun.

@AlteredGoods That’s not a bad deal, and I like the idea of donating the guitar to GFV or another worthy cause.

Hi @SherryH , there’s been major shifts ever since the new TAC was implemented. Most of the senior players have left TAC, because it isn’t a “social group” anymore, and theres no fluidity in the forums that makes it easy to banter and have fun. It is more bland and generic in many ways, and I think that is part of the problem. Newer members were primed by the old ways of TAC, and its fanily atmosphere. It is now a site simply for learning a foundational base for beginner guitar on which to build upon.
I’m not sure how to change that. Maybe recruit a few to lead the way, outside of the few skilled guitarists that improv now. TAC needs to go back to the mentorship format and i.d. those people with a banner under their name. Having a more welcoming forum that invites actual conversations would be great. I think TAC polices too much and discoirages free and open communication.
Well, I’m sure I haven’t answered your questions well, but these are my rambling thoughts.
