Outline: Using a riff based on the C, F, and G chords the student will be able to use it to play along with a backing track. The importance of a riff and how it can carry a rhythm will be demonstrated and the student will realize that chords aren’t the only thing that can carry the rhythm of a song.

Techniques/Concepts: Basic Fretting, Rhythm, Tab, Fretboard Familiarity and Awareness, Song Composition

Outcome/Goal: The student will be able to confidently perform each individual chord based riff, as well as play them in sequence with the backing track (over the appropriate chord).
