Great basic acoustic foundation!! really enjoyed .
Strait to the point.
I like the way you teach, for me that i don’t speak great English, i understand everything….
Thank You Tony
Hi Tony,
It’s been slow going for me. I feel like I need to get through all these fundamental lessons but then I feel like I’m missing all the new monthly practice lessons. What’s the best approach to this site?
Thanks,
Donna
Hey Donna!
It’s been 8 months since you posted this. I find myself in the same situation now. What did you do?
To the powers that be in TAC, what advice can you give me?
So frustrating not being able to progress and do anything else for that matter since haven’t mastered the foundations. Do I only keep working on practising getting the chords ‘clean’ sounding first before doing anything else? Have been stuck trying to get the mini bar F chord for weeks now to no avail! Grrr!
I am glad you are asking. My best advice in this situation is to steer your focus to another element. So often a break is necessary to clear the mind and come back with new energy π My recommendation would be to visit the warmup library and begin working through some of those exercises these will provide an opportunity to shift focus and build strength. This way when you revisit the chords you will have newly built strength to try out π I hope this helps and if you have any further questions just holler π
I just wanted to say a huge thank you. The academy has been fantastic! I’ve been trying to learn for years, and this feels like a really easy way to put together all the little pieces Iβve picked up along the way. Iβve only been on TAC for a few days and itβs been an incredible confidence boost, Iβm really starting to feel like I can actually play!
Thanks for the AF Academy – as a beginning guitar player, it has really helped. Lately, I haven’t been able to keep up with the daily practice schedule. The Academy gives me something to learn and play and not feel left behind.
I love the minor chords (odd numbers; asymmetry) so this is not sad for me. Kinda like a comfort zone.
I have experienced guitar teachers before. Years and years ago, I was one myself. But, You have a special talent for reaching students of all levels in an enticing manor. I had never played finger picking style before and it is a privilege to learn as a beginner again. You make each piece of this course undeniably the most fun I’ve ever had learning anything!
Thank you very kindly for your nice review of the lessons!!! I appreciate your feedback, and am really glad that you are digging into fingerpicking. Joel and I just finished a fingerpicking jumpstart course that I think you will dig as well, we are hoping to get that out in the next couple of weeks, certainly in March π

Once I started this course I couldn’t stop. This entire course contains something for everybody, essential building blocks for those just starting out and a jumping off point for those further down the road.
Thanks for putting this out there. I am looking forward to Guitar 102!
Glenn
Thank you so much for checking out the course and leaving your feedback!!! I am glad you dig the course and found it beneficial for everyone. I too am looking forward to beginning to organize the guitar 102 course π Many many ideas floating around in my head π
Cheers,
Tony

Thank you Tony – I’m glad I did not switch off that irritating ad…;)) This is proper teaching!
Hello Tony
What a wonderful, logical structure. Easy to understand. I really enjoyed the course. Thanks a lot.

It would be cool to add on a finishing C run riff!
Mark,
I agree, a triumphant C-run to celebrate π
