  1. I finally got this one down using the correct fingering lol took me awhile As far as the hammer on the G string A to A# to open G , It’s my favorite part and reminds me of Brent Mason interview when he said he likes notes that twist the ear a bit

    1. Mark,

Great work!!! Gotta love those ear twister notes 🙂 I met Brent at Music Villa when he was doing a workshop and man oh man what a player, and an extremely kind and generous guy!!!

      Cheers,
      Tony

  2. This is a nice bluesy lick, Definately need to start working on Detroit Moan. Got my first Martin and really like it. Not the HD 35 I want but a GPCPA4 for now.

    1. Mark,

Congrats on the new GPCPA4!!! That is a great guitar, one I often recommend for it’s tone, performance, and overall value. Detroit Moan will sound great on it!!!

      Cheers,
      Tony

  3. Nice and bluesy… I’m close on the rhythm and will keep hammering it out this week. The wife is all in for June. I just have to clear my work schedule! Sounds like a great time!

  4. The tricky part for me was getting my hand to put the brakes on that alternating type of pattern on the 2-& of the second measure. Just kept wanting to keep going with it instead of playing quarter notes. Moan.. sorry couldn’t resist.

    1. Bernard,

Great question!!! I usually play this out of a G or E minor position hence my natural habit to use the pinky 🙂 The way this is presented though you can use the ring if it s more comfortable 🙂

      Cheers,
      Tony
