  • My First TACiversary is today!

Posted by Chris_H on December 27, 2021 at 1:38 pm

I joined TAC one year ago today with the hope of bringing more consistency to my guitar routine. Looking back on a very challenging year, retired in June, lost my only brother the day before I retired, & had a few other life hurdles along the way. I still managed to log 294 playing sessions & kept my goal of 5 days per week alive. I can see some definite improvement in flat picking (one of my weaker areas), as well as learning a few new songs & several new techniques. The TAC family has been very supportive & I have enjoyed joining & meeting some of them in the VOM’s. This year I plan to keep up the consistency, learn some more new songs & hopefully play some live at open mics! Thanks Tony for the inspiration! Here’s a pic with my newest guitar that followed me home from a trip to LA. It is a Faith Neptune Blood Moon acoustic electric. Trembesi from Java top, back, & sides with ebony bridge & fingerboard, & some curly maple binding. Tone is much like Koa & I’m enjoying it very much.

Happy 1st TACiversary @Charistopher. Fist, sorry for the loss of your brother. Not easy… Plus Happy NGD! Make a recording of a song. Put it away and listen to it one year later… you will be surprise as to how much progress you have made. 😊🧙‍♂️😎

I’m very sorry about the loss of your brother I can only imagine how hard that was.

Somehow, you stayed the course and I have no doubt focusing on the guitar helped you and was a constant in what sounds like a year of change and challenge.

That guitar has me salivating, it is beautiful and I imagine it sounds like maple syrup given it beautiful colour.

    Wow, I can’t believe it’s been a year already @Christopher_H – Congratulations!

I am so sorry to hear of your brothers passing and the other challenges you’ve had. I hope 2022 is a more positive period for you.

Lovely guitar, and a manufacturer/luthier I’ve not heard of before. Looking forward to hearing her at the VOM’s.

Thank you all for your condolences & words of encouragement. I’ll have to post a video playing the Faith guitar so you can hear what she sounds like.
