Jumpin Jeff’s goofy guitar face.
I was messing around with a jam track trying to get sound/camera lined up (fail) and came up with this that made me cringe at first but then I had to start laughing. I guess I really do look like this when I play?
Anybody care to post good video of your guitar face? I know Tony P has some good ones😄
This is how I jam on this day this time. It is always changing getting ever closer to the sound in my head. If you ever think I am lost I am not. I just am experimenting. Ha.

Wonderful improvising on that @jumpinjeff ! The face says it all: Fretboard meditation, melodic contentment, sometimes looks like you are having a nap? Perhaps dreaming of that perfect lick to play over the track 😉 Thanks for the post! 🎶👍

Thank @charlie_d ; I am glad it did not catch me drooling because that happens sometimes too. I can hear my grandma yelling at me “Close your mouth you are catching flies”

Watching your video tells me you are having fun and enjoying yourself @jumpinjeff Very enjoyable improvisation! Has a bit of a jazz tint to it to my ears. Nicely done!
I pull a few faces myself when I play. I will have to go back through my videos and have a look.

As is my luck- (I certainly couldn’t be my lack of computer-stuff knowledge😜), I tried to post a video with my best/worst guitar face. I couldn’t tell if it looked like I was mad at someone or if I just had to go to the bathroom…… Somewhere between funny and odd. Maybe seeing my goofy face-yoga would’ve made it easier for others to post theirs…..
Anyway- (not trying to sidetrack your post-idea)- when I “pasted” it in, and then hit “post” it showed up in the thread OK, but it was in the “pink screen of death”. (This has happened before to me). To check and see if it “made it”, I go “back” (hit the “Forums” button), and when the thread comes back up– my (pink) post is nowhere to be found.
The only videos I’ve been able to post have been on there “own” (new) thread-post…. like if I create a NEW thread- as in, say, a new “Play For Us” post.
If I try to “reply” to an existing thread- (like this one) with a video…. it’s “pink screen” time.
Anyway- Again- I don’t want to lose the focus on your great thread-idea–
Guitar-Faces. This could be great!!! I wanna see ’em, too!!!

Sorry to hear about your posting difficulties Mark, @the-old-coach , I remember your previous saga a few weeks ago. There must be a solution. I wish we could zoom or something and go through your posting process in real time. I am no wiz but I have managed to get my youtube posts onto the site without any difficulty. The pink screen is something I have not experienced at all. Wish I knew the cause or what triggers it.

As I mentioned– I’m sure the problem’s “at my end”. I’ll keep monkeyin’ with it till I get it. I’m stubborn that way. Like a dog with a mouthful of mailman-leg. I’ll get it.

Hi @jumpinjeff , when I was reviewing my Hacksaw improv video from today (posted in this forum) I noticed I make some pretty choice faces as well when I play. It made me remember a high school friend (non guitar player) ask me “why do people that play guitar always make this face?”, and showed me the “eyes closed / feels so good face”. I told him he would have to play guitar to understand – so I’m sticking with that.

Actually VERY nice improving. As far as guitar face goes, having a very full beard is helpful .I don’t have one so my turkey neck is leading the way

Dude! You ARE a classic around the TAC diamond!! That face of bliss reminded me of a puppy rolling round on it back! Pure heaven! I would love to have that state of awesomeness while fiddling w a backing track! I tend to concentrate too hard on right notes vs playing for the pure ecstasy of it! Well done! Keep jamming & strumming til the fingers are nubs! great job & good times ahead!

I don’t remember this from live, Jeff, but then, I may not have been able to see past my own that day, so, . . .
I cringe every time I see one of my videos that I post. I don’t have one face, but I sure have plenty of them, whichever one I have on at the time.

One of the reasons @AttyTJ I love playing together live. Everyone is highly focused on the groove and not registering the visuals of facial expressions.😄 I think also playing live I am looking a lot at what your hands are doing to help my get to the groove.
