A Couple Weeks Left
Posted by Kitman on April 5, 2023 at 7:33 pmI have been a member of TAC since May of 2022. What a great experience it has been! The TAC community (those that operate the site as well as everyone that is a member) is one or the most welcoming and encouraging communities I’ve experienced. My thanks to all of you for your support, encouragement and feedback! In this last 12 months I have played guitar every single day and through the TAC challenges, FW1/FW2 and the skills classes I have knocked some dust of skills I had developed years ago as well as learned some new skills and techniques (flat picking blue grass, finger picking). I am very well satisfied and thrilled with the progress i have made.
That said I have decided to go a different direction with my guitar tuition budget and do some deep dives into styles and genres I have loved for a long time and have come to love recently. I will say, “see you sometime in the future” vs. goodbye as I my current intention is to check in from time to time via a monthly membership. As the TAC motto says: Be Nice and Play Guitar! 😎🎸🎶

We will miss you. Don’t be a stranger too long. Especially if you find your consistency waining.

Thanks you @albert_d . You were one of the first bTAC community members that welcomed me and made me feel right at home. You also encouraged me to go farther with my flat picking. I will definitely not be a stranger and will also definitely return if I am having difficulty with my guitar routine consistency! All the best my friend!

Good luck to you Mr Kitman, I will miss your weekly improvisations. See you on the other side 😉

Hi @Bill_Brown I will certainly miss interacting with you here in the forums. Your input and ideas have always been so helpful and encouraging as well as specific – it always gave me something to work in as I went forward. I am sure we will cross paths again my friend!

Good luck @Kitman. Always looked at you as one of the foundational go to guys here for insight, etc. Hope you return someday.
I started here in May 2020 as well, and subsequently signed on as a lifer. I am also exploring other venues that have a different focus and add to my guitar journey, but I look at TAC as the keystone place that enables me to explore the others, and so will continue using TAC daily as the start for everything else
Enjoy

K-man—
What???
Well, crap.
It has been great “meeting” and getting to know you– in here. You’ve provided MUCH inspiration for many– including myself, for sure. You’ve also been a champion for CLARITY and also the laying-out of the steps for actual progress in the way-too-confusing — (sometimes on purpose🤨like Mike says)– world of learning guitar.
Your “keep looking ahead” and “how can we make this better” attitude meshed PERFECTLY in here– because— 1. the main TAC forum is fairly “tied-in-with” the TAC curriculum- and all the questions that come with THAT…. (and that’s not even counting the “mini-forums” that come with each Daily Challenge)…. and– 2. because plenty of us like to take detours down the “side streets” of guitar-learning, if’n you know what I mean. (yes, I think I am in that group🙄), and let’s face it, we need someone to keep us in line…….
Stop back by from time to time just to shoot the breeze and shake some hands.
See ya around—- thanks again.

Hey there @the-old-coach , thanks for your words. You were one off that very first welcomed be to TAC and shared your perspectives on how to continue to improve. I really appreciate that. Just because I am on hiatus from TAC doesn’t mean I am disappearing ! We will continue to share ideas and approaches in other places! See you soon, Mark.

@Kitman I remember well when you signed on for TAC, and it’s been a pleasure getting to know you this past year. I’ve seen your playing just improve with leaps and bounds. You always have a kind word for everyone, and you’ll be missed on TAC. Will catch up with you elsewhere.

Say it ain’t so @Kitman. Seriously though I am going to miss you as you have been an inspiring presence on TAC. I do understand your desire to change direction (a change is as good as a rest). So happy trails my TAC friend and I do hope to see you at the occasional VOM.
