Born on the Bayou (CCR)
Posted by Philb on May 25, 2023 at 5:03 pmThis is minus John Fogerty’s great vocals; but I did add a false start, and when I messed up an instrumental part I was adding, winged it (badly); but kept going to complete the song. LOL It is a learning process.

Think I’ll grab me a bowl of gumbo and an Abita Andygator.

@Philb Great job with playing. Great tone, and a little reverb, and you nailed the essence of the song. Loved the hat. :). I’m a huge CCR fan, so really enjoyed this.

I enjoyed your rendition @Philb 🤩👏👏 Loved the reverb😘 that was a sweet touch. Are you using a pedal for the reverb with an audio interface🤔 I ask because the reverb seemed to go in and out – or am I loosing it🤯

@Marty72 Thanks much! Yes sir; great group!
@Bill_Brown
Thanks for listening, and the encouraging words. Actually I didn’t use any reverb. I was wanting to simulate a Leslie/rotary amp type effect, and read where using a chorus pushed up high with a delay can work. I used two pedals. I started out in the opening using a delay (my favorite over a reverb actually), at a modest setting, with the chorus pushed up pretty high. It gave the shimmer I wanted. Then after the opening I clicked off the chorus and just used the delay. It varied in intensity according to how hard I was playing. It was fun to experiment with the sounds. I had to do something since it was just me and an acoustic trying to play such an iconic song. LOL-
