Cat’s in the Cradle Cover
Posted by Moose408 on November 18, 2025 at 9:24 pmI struggle whenever I record myself. This is perfect but it’s the best I got over 3 attempts. Need to record myself more often I guess.

Great job on smooth chord transitions. Especially the quick ones. Is that a D-28, or a 00-28 you’re playing?

HD-28E.
Bought a used one in June after a 6 month search. Wasn’t looking for a HD or a E but the price was great some went for it. Didn’t get a proper setup until September and it was like a whole new instrument after that.

Even better. It sure sounds great. Martins always have high actions from the factory. A good setup is key.

Nicely done, @Moose408
This is a classic, that so many greats have performed, so that adds even more pressure. I think I almost prefer playing a song that hardly anybody knows, LOL! But you did it well and at quite a tempo, impressive! 🙂

Hey man that was a great performance! Very nice playing and singing. Nice steady strumming and good work on the lick. Keep em coming brother!

Most excellent job on a classic Harry Chapin tune. Way to play!

Very well done @Moose408 – I’m a big fan of Harry Chapin. Was fortunate to had seen him perform several times. Once in a small group setting while in college. He left us far too soon. This classic is one I do when I play at extended care facilities – it often hits home in its meaning there. Thanks for posting.

Nice job. The YouTube upload says you did this in 2015 but I assume it is a typo and is really 2025. This song speaks to all us Dads.

Moose–
Thank you for sharing this tune! I really enjoyed it, especially the simplicity of it. Just you, your guitar, and a microphone.
