Angel From Montgomery
Posted by Marisa on January 25, 2023 at 12:23 pmHi there. In beautiful Costa Rica this week, piecing my set- list together for upcoming gig( wish I had an ax here…) I always try to do 2 new songs. Thinking of trying this with previously posted Wildflowers. May even have some extra singers on board for harmony. Recorded this last week, and I know exactly what to work on. Here, trying to play from memory and out to the ‘crowd’ 😂This is getting fun!

Just want to say Wow wow ! Only playing three chords but sounds really smooth, echoing in the forest. Thanks.

Great rendition @Marisa 👏👏🤩 One of my favorite songs that I tried to but couldn’t play (strumming pattern problems), so it was really nice to hear you do it👍🎸 Definitely one for the set-list, loved it❤😘

A little John Prine from Costa Rica? Living the good life and having fun. Nice performance. Thanks for sharing.

Great job! When you hit some cities to play where us TAC members are; we can be your roadies to help set up. 😜

Love John Prine, especially this one. You do it justice @Marisa !
I did some traveling south too this past week to Belize and Costa Maya, Mexico, as stops on a 60/70’s music cruise featuring Justin Hayward and many others. Got to hear and speak with a (young) guitarist, Mike Dawes, who recently recorded with his guitar hero, Tommy Emmanuel. Mike is a percussionist guitarist from the UK and very entertaining – currently touring with Hayward. Able to hear him do two sets on board the ship. Check him out on YouTube. Lots of energy!!

I absolutely love Mike Dawes. I saw him with Tommy Emmanuel, and I have tickets to see him 2/15 at a local theatre (1st row).

Good for you @Loraine
Mike told me he will touring the Northeast after the Hayward tour concludes. I got his master course guitar shaped thumb drive to give my son-in-law (former professional guitarist) as a gift. That percussive technique is well beyond my poor arthritic fingers and hands!
I found him to be very approachable. I sat within 5 to 10 feet of him (as you know he moves/jumps around constantly!) at the “Bar City” stage on the Norwegian Pearl ship. So skilled and fun to watch. Fantastic sense of humor too!
I now proudly wear his “precision acoustic” logo tee shirt.
