Blackbird journey
I took this on after watching a few different people and the way they approached teaching it. There are plenty to choose from.
1.) My very first attempt at recording this got in a minute and a half then I blanked.

I was at the 3rd verse instrumental no lyrics verse
So I studied and practiced more because this piece has a structure that challenges me. And absolutely no way (yet) could I play and sing this piece at the sametime, maybe someday…
2nd attempt at recording took about 20 or30 more play throughs to really lock it in – but still I struggle with several transitions.

After about 30 or 40 more play throughs I think I polished it up enough to trim about 10 seconds off the play time.
it seems I found the biggest problem is when I reach out to touch the “record” button.
I think it’s a voodoo curse – gonna write that in a song one day. Need a pedal for that !

One of these days I want to add that to the repertoire. Your progress is well documented and you seem to be enjoying the piece. And that guitar is a beauty. Nice grain and sound. Thanks for sharing and going through the red light anxiety. I get it too.

It’s really not anxiety cause I kinda don’t really care about recording but still the reach and touch seems to disconnect from the strings and music. Either way..

Thank you so much xiao-bai, that is so good to hear, & to answer about being a Seagull Guitar – no- the first (shortest version, 1min 30sec take #1) is a Breedlove Sitka/Merytlewood while the 2nd day take #2 is a slope-shoulder dreadnought R&B special from LUC Guitars in California that was a 2min 57sec +_ recording and lastly the 3rd day, take #3 is the darkest color guitar, my first Breedlove Discovery CE MH Mahogany guitar.
