    I would guess standard tuning would be either an open G (G-D-G) like for a slide guitar or perhaps the top 3 strings standard (G-B-E) so you could get a lot of triads.i think my preference would be the later. What a fun thing to pursue. The grandkids must love it.

    @lecassandra @albert_d

    Thank you both for listening! I ended up tuning it to GDG. That’s what seemed to be recommended a lot. It was indeed fun; and just for a change of pace. The greats like it, but are not always very careful. LOL

    Hey @Philb , I loved the use of the slide on the single string with the supporting tones from the other strings – that could be a great avenue to go down! In fact, you may have to move to Mississippi and take on the moniker “Mississippi Phil” – (or not – LOL).

      Ok, what about this, move to Phoenix and become “Phoenom Phil”??? Hell, you don’t even have to move!

    Curious- did you make it yourself?

    I’m a big fan of alternate tunings and alternate instruments. I’ve seen lots of homemade cigar boxes made from all kinds of stuff. This piece was great to listen to. Wish it was much longer cause I could listen to that for quite a while. Keep up the great work and please share more of your creativity. Very enjoyable!! ♡♡

    @Bill_Brown I live right next door in Mesa, so maybe I could get away with that. LO

    @-Rick- @Marty74
    Thank you so much for listening and the kind words.

    @lecassandra It is home made, but not by me. My granddaughter and her husband were going to some garage sales in the area and came across this. The guy there said he made it. There are tutorials and guides online how to do it. The only thing I would recommend is to make the neck longer. Most you see online do have longer necks; a standard size. This one is too short, has 11 frets, and the spacing is not right, so you do not get the right notes. It is tough to do much with.

    Watch this; Justin Johnson on his 3 string shovel guitar. Mind blowing!
