Day 99 of The 100 Day Project
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY to all you moms out there!
Today’s song was a fun one. “Look What They’ve Done To My Song.” It was written by Melanie (Melanie Safka) and released on her 1970 album “Ruby Tuesday.” It was recently covered by Miley Cyrus, and there’s a nice youtube video of the two of them singing it together.
The real purpose was to teach myself how to do some muted strumming, which is definitely a lot harder than it looks. And why I only did it at the beginning of the song.
Not my best effort, but not my worst. And I have to get crackin’ on my final song. So I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for watching!

Hi @Michelle-PSL I definitely remember this song and love it. But every now and then I cannot get the audio on your videos. Is it because it’s on as a YouTube I don’t know. Any ideas? I don’t want to miss the finale!!!

I do get audio on my other 2 devices it must be something peculiar to the pc and these particular recordings I don’t get audio.🤔

Nice choice Michelle! I actually got to see Melanie in concert back in 1978 in Florida. Big inspiration to me between her & her opening act Tom Chapin (Harry Chapin’s brother). Enjoyed your rendition!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

OK, I am officially impressed ! I was unofficially impressed all along since your day one and that was impressive all by itself. I have decided that I officially could not pull off the 100 day project with my officially short term long term memory issues which I officially diagnosed myself with, and that’s official. 😎🤣👍

@Michelle-PSL , using the muted strumming on the first verse, then regular strumming on verses 2+ really gave the song a cool extra layer. Congrats on 99.

Happy Mothers Day, and Happy day 99. I have, I believe. listened to all the days and it has been a GREAT journey. Happy day 100 and I look forward to a summary of your thoughts after completing such a challenging project! I was working on the muting yesterday also and I really struggle getting all the strings to be quiet. Nice job!
