    Hi Folks, I just started the 30 days to play, GREAT I love the way Tony explains everything. the problem that I have is that when trying the Blues Shuffle – my first and third finger doesn’t stretch to the 2nd and 4th fret! has anyone else experienced this or is it just my little hands?

    Hi @pasdave , I sure did have flexibility issue when I first started out. Then I started a stretch regimen that I continue to do to this day and it it one of the most important things aiding my physical development on the fret board. Check out the Skills Courses on the left menu bar, there is a stretching course Tony did that is solid. I will leave you with this idea: thing of your fingers as silly putty, stretch slowly and they will stretch for miles, stretch fast and they will Snyaap, not really but you get the idea….

    @pasdave Welcome to TAC! Definitely suggest the Stretching Skills course, and there are a range of videos and articles online for stretching. Between stretching and just plain lots of practice, your stretching and finger dexterity will improve. For now, you’ll need to move your hand in order to reach the correct frets. Good luck with it, and have loads of fun in the 30 days to play course!

    @pasdave

    Welcome to TAC!

    Since you are just starting, it will take a bit of time for your fingers to stretch in order to reach the other frets. Beside the stretching course, you could also move the up the fret board to say 5th/7th fret and do the Blues Shuffle there as the frets are closer together – small win!

    Then once you are comfortable move back down the fret board, say 3rd and 5th fret and try the shuffle there. Before you know it, you will be able to do the shuffle at 2nd/4th fret!

    Hope the helps! Keep up the great work!

    Cheers
