OK….I’m committed! …. I’ve completed the “30 days to play” and moved on to the “5 day Guitar Challenge” (just completed it today). I can’t wait until Monday to begin my “Daily Challenge”…and….

I’ve been looking around the TAC site in order to get a feel for what’s here…BTW, I’m enjoying the Forums (especially the “play for us” forum).

I saw that there is a Fret Wizard course that I can sign up for…a bit pricey for me, but if it would help me in the current phase of my guitar journey, I’d pull the trigger on it in a moment.

Is anyone here currently taking the Fretboard Wizard course? Has anyone already taken it? Would you recommend it at this point in my journey, or should I wait?

Thanks to all for your responses.

Hi @BobbyJ : I have taken the FretWiz course and recommend it highly. Once purchased you can return to it as often as you like, also a good idea. As you progress your brain gets wired up and things that seemed hard to follow are quickly comprehended. and you get on to a new level of understanding and challenges. If you can swing it FretWiz was money well spent for me.

Hi @BobbyJ Congratulations on finishing your “30 Days to Play” and the “5 Day Guitar Challenge”!!! Way to go!!

I’ve taken the Fretboard Wizard course and I have to say that it’s worth every penny. There’s so many fretboard/guitar theory YouTubes out there that you could watch… but Tony’s FretWiz class is one of the very very best explanations I’ve ever seen. I had countless “light bulb moments” and my comprehension of guitar theory and song structure was taken to a whole new level. I highly recommend it!!

Best wishes in your guitar journey!!

I agree with every one’s glowing declarations of FW @BobbyJ 👍 Yes, you can find bits and pieces of similar content on UT for free, but nobody teaches and explains it like Tony. Nobody will quiz you and give you the opportunity to have that ah-ha moment when things start to click, and so much more. I agree whole heartedly with @Marty69 when he says “it’s worth every penny”, because it truly is!

    Hey @BobbyJ

I know your question has already been answered, and with conviction. But, when I saw @Bill_Brown ‘s answer, I was reminded of some of the specifics of Fretboard Wizard. I had already gained quite a bit of knowledge about music theory. First, it was still a lot of separate pieces. Second, that knowledge never touched the guitar. It was like whatever knowledge I had of music theory and whatever knowledge I had of the fretboard were 2 different things. The FW course put everything together for me and my understanding just took off. I started watching tons of YouTube videos and actually understanding them completely and able to plug in the new tidbits into this wholistic picture Tony had given me through this course.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that.

Hey all! I’ve been TAC-ing for two years now and feel it’s time to start Fretboard Wizard. I clicked the icon on the menu bar (left) and nothing. Says “Whoa…looks like you don’t have access” but no way to sign up. I’ve looked around but can’t see how to sign up – or even what the cost is for FW. Can you help a gal out???? Thanks in advance!

Hi @EverydayAmy , there is usually a short sign-up period in the spring and fall for FW. It hasn’t been offered yet this spring, but when I saw it last fall, it was in small print on the “Support” page, just below the TAC logo at the very bottom. When I noticed it last fall, it said “Fretboard Wizard” (again, very small print – like they were trying to hide it) and when I clicked on it, it took you to a web add for FW (just like when you saw the add for TAC) and from there you could sign-up and pay. The kicker is it was less than 24 hours later and the FW logo was gone from the page. Now that being said, Tony has said that they’re working on FW II, and perhaps once that’s ready, they’ll offer it up.
