Happy to say I made my 100 day streak! now, for a day off :)
Finally made it to 100 days to play streak (been with TAC 490 days). I have tried to get to 100 a few times and get real close and then miss a day. So, I made it! I wanted to add next month on 10-2 is my 2 year anniversary for buying a guitar since quitting all together around the mid 90s. I don’t even know what made me go up and buy a guitar, but, I did. Maybe just to revisit my playing from back in my younger days. It’s amazing what you forget in 25 years (ha ha ha). I started out by following youtube tutorials and it just wasn’t working for me. Spent half my time searching. My brother told me to start with the pentatonic scale for the acoustic guitars. Well, I googled it and TAC cam up. I started on 2-2021 and it really got me back on track. Just made me do something with the guitar every day I have received a lot of useful information not only from the site but from the forum. Listening to others play songs or you advise on what worked for them and what didn’t was a string board to success for me. I just wanted to add my accomplishment this morning. So, if you’re feeling frustrated, it will get better. I know the site doesn’t show songs, but that isn’t what the site is about.

Hey, congrats on that streak! I’ve made it to 129 since joining in May this year, but will probably miss a few days at the end of this month when we go away for a short vacation. I don’t think it will bother me much to end my streak – the number that really matters is the playing sessions, right? If I’m picking up my guitar 95% of days, I’m doing much better than I was pre-TAC. And I get what you say about the program – before TAC all I was really trying to do was learn songs, but Tony has opened my eyes to so many more aspects of becoming a musician🙂

Hey @GerryB56 , you can log in on your cell phone each day you’re on vacay, and keep that day streak goin’😱 That’s what I’ll be doing when I take my family to a beach vacay in a couple of weeks – I’ll just log-in from my phone each day to keep my 500+++ day streak goin’🤩

Thought of that, but if I’m not actually playing guitar, my nerdy straight arrow brain tells me I’m kind of cheating😆 Might do it anyway, it should count for something if I’m still thinking about guitar geek stuff, I suppose🎸

Thanks @GerryB56 ,Record a couple of songs that you know well and upload them to your computer. Then do a comparison with your next 100 days.

@Bill_Brown This sounds kind-of stupid but I actually plan to miss a day so I can have a reboot. I want to record a couple of the songs that I can play from memory and store them away. Then in another 100 days, record them again (with new songs I have learned) and see the difference. I’ll probably reboot around the end of this week.

Yes @Cadgirl that sounds like a great idea, but you can still log-in from your phone while doing the re-boot (if I’m understanding you correctly), right?👍🎸🤩

Yaaaaaah! You go, Denise @Cadgirl . It took me over 3 years to do that. My longest was 87 for most of the time I’ve been a TAC member. Then, over 3 years of membership, I made it to 112. Now I’m back up to 27 I think. It is important to me to try. But it’s not important when I miss a day and start over. That’s what I’ve learned from TAC. Celebrate what you do right, forget about the mistakes; or learn from the mistakes. But either way, don’t make a big deal over them. I’m still getting better at that simple outlook in life. But I do it way more often in more situations. I didn’t used to do it at all. Progress… not perfection. 😎

@N-lightMike , right on! You make a lot of sense with that. I was just telling both @Bill_Brown and @GerryB56 that I’m planning a reboot. I really did want to make it to 100 days, now that I made it, time to start over. 🙂

Yay, way ti go @Cadgirl !! I used to focus so much on the number of consecutive days, and then I missed a day and thr counter started over. At first I was devastated that my streak was broken, but then I thought what matters is that I simply start afresh and keep moving forward. I’ve reset my counter a few times because I was out of town or had other work or personal commitments, but I always came back and maintain my routine.

Congrats on achieving your 100 day streak @Cadgirl and for the decision to reboot. You had shared your “100 day comparison” video idea with me in a different thread. Great way to actually see the progress for your self. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks @Kitman , I want to push myself a little harder or I start being satisfied at where I am and i won’t progress. It’s not like the old days where someone would stop at the house and we’d just play silly stuff back and forth. I have heard some pretty impressive improv on the ‘play for us’ and I have to say, i’m jealous. 🙂
